Introducing: 7 New AP Code 11.59 Models in Pink Gold, With Textured Dials
Audemars Piguet reveals new models that showcase the evolutionary design introduced on the first stainless steel Code 11.59 references in 2023. To update the more subdued and widely criticized design of previous dials, a unique “signature” embossed dial pattern has been specially created for this collection, together with different hands and markers, in collaboration between the AP design team and Swiss guilloche craftsman Yann von Kaenel, which, as we have seen with its introduction, is a tremendous aesthetical improvement.?This appealing design now finds its way into an array of new Audemars Piguet Code 11.59 models in pink gold. The seven new references in this collection are presented in rose gold cases, with PVD-coated or galvanic-treated dials featuring the new stamped pattern with elongated, flattened, faceted, and polished 18k pink gold hour indices. The indices and rose gold hands are enhanced with luminescent material for optimal readability
Bulgari Octo Finissimo Automatic Satin-Polished // Introducing
No watch enthusiast can overlook Bvlgari’s hegemony of the ultra-thin category. The formula is simple: 5 stunning watches, 5 world records, 1 great design. Not only is the Octo Finissimo a demonstration of mechanical savoir-faire but it is also a treaty of modern design. Until now, the “simplest” of the watches in this collection, the Automatic model, has been available in titanium, stainless steel and rose gold, all with a sandblasted finish. Now, the brand adds a luxurious touch with the new Bvlgari Octo Finissimo Automatic Satin-Polished Collection. With these new models in the ever-growing (and always surprising) Octo Finissimo collection, don’t expect multiple design or mechanical changes. The ingredients are still the same: the same angular case; the same ultra-flat luxury sports watch concept; the same paper-thin automatic movement; and the same bracelet/strap. Whereas most brands introduce new dial colours to spruce up an existing? model, Bvlgari refreshe
Jacob & Co. Astronomia Alec Monopoly (Specs & Price)
As a child of the 1980s, I grew up quite a few years before a little thing called the internet was widely available. Games were plaid off-line rather than online and you'd had to time yourself to watch?your favourite TV show, otherwise, you'd miss it. Growing up I had a few favourite TV cartoons and board games to play. And to my surprise, two of those things have just reared their head in an ultra-complex Jacob & Co in a collaboration with renowned artist and painter Alec Monopoly.?And once again, it is mechanical boldness to the max.Presented as a special collaboration between perhaps the most extravagant independent watchmaker and the famous street artist, the Astronomia Alec Monopoly combines several artistic crafts within the signature Astronomia theme. The four arms of the movement rotate over a sparkling black aventurine base dial, with four unique and handcrafted characters pretty much all of us are familiar with. Value Proposition - Don Kylne & Co Time Master (Review)
Cars, it seems, are an?everlasting source of inspiration for watches. Many of the big brands feel the need to join forces with racing teams, car manufacturers or people of the industry to create dedicated watches highlighting the parallels between the two industries. And, in all fairness, some of these become highly desirable! Smaller brands tend to follow this line too, with a wide range of automotive-inspired designs debuting?every year. Entire brands are created with the automotive soul in mind. With Don Kylne & Co, this is also the case. Not the entire brand, but at least with its?newest Kickstarter-project: The Time Master.Don Kylne & Co. is a brand we first introduced to you last year via its?elegant, and highly affordable, Chaplin collection. Refreshingly, there wasn’t the usual over-zealous marketing hyperbole we usually see associated with these types of brands. They don't try to present themselves in any other way than just a small, enthusiastic group of watch-g
Vacheron Constantin Traditionnelle Complete Calendar Openface
Last week, when we reviewed the Traditionnelle Complete Calendar with its sexy, sleek grey dial, we asked whether Vacheron Constantin was getting hipper in its old age? Looking at what the world's oldest manufacture has pulled off today, a Complete Calendar with an openworked dial, it seems like some of the more complicated models in the traditional Traditionnelle family are getting a 21st-century makeover. However, it's not the first Traditionnelle model with an openworked dial and sapphire crystal peepholes. In 2019, Vacheron flexed its horological muscles with its impressive Traditionnelle Twin Beat Perpetual Calendar with a 65-day power reserve, an openworked section of the dial and radically contemporary looks. Taking the edgy avant-garde aesthetics of the Twin Beat Perpetual Calendar one step further, the brand unveils its latest openworked sapphire dial version of its classic calendar watch, the new Vacheron Constantin Traditionnelle Complete Calendar Openface available in 18k p
