Weekly Watch Photo - Audemars Piguet Millenary Star Wheel - Monochrome Watches
Again a photo made by GEO, although this time no Cartier. Audemars Piguet made this rare Millenary Star Wheel for the 125th anniversary of the brand and in my opinion one of the most beautiful of this manufacture. It’s almost refreshing to see another timepieces from Audemars Piguet, than the Royal Oak or Royal Oak Offshore collections. Like the Millenary collection, Audemars Piguet does have several more collections that are very appealing and much more elegant than the RO and ROO. Besides the Millenary I also enjoy beautiful esthetics of the Jules Audemars collection and?the Edward Piguet collection (especially the EP chronograph). Buying Guide - The best GMT & travel watches of 2022
Whoever has experienced traversing the globe (by plane, train or automobile) while wearing a mechanical timepiece has at one point run into the drawbacks of regular time-only watches. It can tell the time in one location only, which is useless for identifying the time of day or night of your loved ones back home. Luckily, there are watches that offer a simple and practical solution: travel watches! These come in many variations and offer either a GMT function for a second time zone or a Worldtimer display where you can quickly identify the hour in multiple (and possibly all) time zones on earth. And as the year draws to a close, today’s Buying Guide homes in on some of the best travel watches presented in 2022!Longines Spirit Zulu TimeThe Spirit collection by Longines is home to some of the best watches the Winged Hourglass brand has to offer, and the Spirit Zulu Time reaffirms that very much. It’s quite a chunky watch, admittedly, but a very good-looking one at that! It co

After a slow week I’m gonna start of the new week with a set of magnificent photos. Monochrome’s Weekly Watch Photo shows a watch that brings back memories, a Citizen Automatic Divers, my first watch with an automatic movement.?The Citizen Automatic Divers was specifically bought for vacations and served as reliable vacation watch on many occasions. The Citizen strapped on a NATO strap has joined me to great depths (at least to a max of 35-40 meters) and great heights.?The photographer,?Martin Krocil, shows us more of his amazing photos of his watches in water. Introducing: The Pink Gold Jaeger-LeCoultre Reverso Tribute Chronograph
The classic Reverso Chronograph, a watch initially presented in 1996, is a piece of great historical importance. It was the first manually wound integrated chronograph to be developed in the post-quartz era, marking the return to classic watchmaking. Last year, Jaeger-LeCoultre presented the Reverso Tribute Chronograph, a Duoface model looking back at this 1990s classic, equipped with an evolution of its movement and housed in a more modernly designed watch. The model is now back in a new pink gold limited edition, where the noble metal is used for the case but also the dial and movement bridges. Miles away from the initial vocation of a chronograph, but also closer in style to its late 20th-century predecessor.?Technically speaking and regarding the main specifications, this new edition of the Reverso Tribute Chronograph is identical to last year’s steel and gold models. What changes is basically the visual side and the materials used. There is indeed a lot of gold here. The cas
Nivada Grenchen Depthmaster Green Numerals Date - Hands-On, Price
Accessible dive watches are a dime a dozen. To put it simply, finding one that you’ll like is an endless quest, with so many good options available (and also very bad ones…) But accessibility often means that some concessions on quality, mechanics or specifications will be made. And then comes the style, with many of these watches built around the same overall design. What if you’re looking for a solid, deep diver’s watch with an original look, reliable mechanics, faithfulness, a name that resonates in the heart of collectors and, to make it even better, a fair price. Well, we have one for you here, in the name of the Nivada Grenchen Depthmaster, here presented with a rather striking green dial.?BackgroundNivada is typically the kind of brand that will talk mostly to seasoned collectors and vintage watch lovers. Indeed, if the brand has been rather successful during the 1960s, it has always been sort of a niche watchmaker for professional applications. Not a mai
