A. Lange & Sohne 1815 Rattrapante Honeygold - Review, Price
Today, we’ll review a special watch… Sure, it looks stunning, but there’s far more to this watch than its pretty face. The 1815 Rattrapante Honeygold represents many things. First of all, it’s always a pleasure to see an A. Lange & Sohne made of 18k Honeygold, the brand’s proprietary gold alloy, always reserved for special occasions. Second, this watch celebrates the founder of both the watchmaking industry in Glashutte and the Lange brand. Finally, and this is hard to believe after so many watches with a chronograph function, but this is the first stand-alone split-seconds chronograph of A. Lange & Sohne. Superbly executed and quite spectacular… Let’s dive into the details that make this 1815 Rattrapante Honeygold a pretty special watch.?Homage to F.A. Lange and to 175 years of watchmaking in GlashutteThe 1815 Rattrapante Honeygold is part of an important trilogy of watches for the brand, all executed in the same proprietary gold alloy
Spotted - Craig, Knopfler, Hanks - 10 Notable People with Omega Speedmaster
The venerable Omega Speedmaster Professional was the first wristwatch worn on the Moon in 1969 and has gained an undeniable status symbol, being on of the most iconic watches ever, one with a popularity that goes far beyond just watch nerds. Considering its pedigree, it seems understandable to see this watch on the wrist of celebrities, and I have compiled a list with a few familiar faces wearing the Omega Speedmaster. The Omega Speedmaster was created in 1957, as part of a trilogy of professionally oriented watches (Seamaster 300 for divers, Railmaster for scientists and Speedmaster for racing drivers). There are a few interesting facts worth noting about this watch. First of all, it was the first chronograph watch with a scale engraved on an external bezel, and not printed on its dial. The most important steps in the history of this watch, however, all have to do with space exploration. After some astronauts used their own Speedmaster watches onboard Gemini missions (early 1960s), NAS
Delma Blue Shark III Azores - Dive Watch Hands-On (Specs & Price)
Delma is a relatively discreet brand, not necessarily known by a wider audience, but that still impresses us with its combination of high-quality watches and fair prices. Something that we don’t see that often these days… The brand has long been involved in the field of dive watches, starting in 1969 with the so-called Periscope, followed in 1975 by the?Shell Star, its first pro-diver. But it’s mainly with the Blue Shark collection that the brand has gained interest in this field, with one of the toughest watches on the market, despite an accessible price. Today, we’ll take a closer look at the latest iteration of this watch, the Delma Blue Shark III Azores edition.?As you’ve probably guessed thanks to its name, the Delma Blue Shark III represents the third evolution of a watch that was launched in 2011, as the brand’s most robust and most capable dive watch ever created. While the Shell Star was paying tribute to past watches of Delma, the Blue Shar
Introducing the Redesigned Oris Aquis Date 2017 Collection (specs & price)
Since its introduction, the Oris Aquis has always been the high-performance dive watch of the brand. Sturdy, robust, strong and powerful, this watch is?all about performance and reliability. So to say, a real tool watch, which earned the status of icon in the Oris collection. Even if it remained modern, Oris has decided to bring a new take on the?Aquis Date Collection, with subtle evolutions of most components, in order to bring modernity and extra-refinement to a still very toolish and professional-oriented watch. Here is the updated Oris Aquis Date Collection for 2017, more refined, still powerful. The story of the sturdy and performance-oriented dive watch from Oris goes back to the late 1990s, with the Oris Full Steel. While the Divers Sixty Five plays on vintage-inspired themes, the modern version of the Full Steel, the Aquis, is all devoted to reliability and professional use. This watch is a solid, robust, masculine watch made to be used underwater, with no compromise. The previo
Hands-On - Anonimo Nautilo Blue Summer Editions (Specs & Price)
It's been 12 years since the first Nautilo dive watch was developed by Dino Zei, naval engineer and former 25-year head of Panerai, and a couple of new editions have arrived for the summer. The theme this year is blue, which is fitting for a naval-inspired dive watch, and they follow the design refresh we saw last year in conjunction with Anonimo's 20th Anniversary. The Italian brand has been fairly consistent with its cushion case designs for the Nautilo line with crowns at 4 o'clock, but the dials have evolved over time. The summer editions bring colour changes to the dials with new ceramic bezels but maintain the no-nonsense diver's tool aesthetic from previous generations.Summer vibe for the new blue editions of the NautiloThe stainless steel cushion case is fairly large at 44.4mm, but not over-the-top for a diver and it wears well for a larger case. Looking at Panerai with many of its cases at 47mm and larger, the Nautilo seems almost reasonably sized. Anonimo has used bronze for
