Tudor Heritage Chrono Blue Reviewed - Monochrome Watches
This year at Baselworld the Monochrome Team visited Tudor for the first time. That might just have something to do with the introduction of Tudor on American soil. Finally Tudor is available for US customers! Over the past few years Tudor has been building a new collection, that has deep roots in their own heritage. A very rich heritage that is not solely based on tool watches, although we’re going to have a look at one of the most legendary Tudor watches and its newest reissue: the Tudor Heritage Chrono Blue. When we entered the Tudor booth something really amazing happened…I guess I walked in first, met with someone from the Tudor team, and after a glimpse on her wrist I grabbed her hand and was immediately impressed by the watch she was wearing. Funny thing is that pretty much everyone that came in after me, did more or less the same! In all my years visiting many, many brands at Baselworld I have never witnessed something like that. The watch that several people from th
First Look: Bovet Recital 28, A Worlds First Reconciling World-Timer and DST
In 2001, Pascal Raffy, a passionate collector of haute horlogerie, acquired the prestigious name Bovet and embarked on a remarkable journey to revive the brand to its former glory. Mr. Raffy spared no effort in establishing a manufacture characterized by an exceptional level of integration. Among its various achievements, Bovet introduced a series of exquisitely crafted and complex watches. Notable among these are numerous astronomical watches, including the Shooting Star, the Asterium, and the Recital 22 Grand Recital, as well as the Recital 26 Chapter Two. Bovet now unveils the Recital 28 Prowess 1, a world premiere that addresses one of the major challenges faced by traditional world-timers: Daylight Saving Time (DST). In addition to this remarkable feat, the Bovet Recital 28 features a flying tourbillon, a perpetual calendar with roller-based indications, and an impressive 10-day power reserve.Traveller’s Watches and the DST ProblemBefore the invention of unified time systems

Vacheron Constantin Patrimony Contemporaine Pocket Watch in Pink Gold - Monochrome Watches
You might think that Monochrome is about wrist watches, not about pocket watches. Well, I think the truth is in the middle, and I should know. We have covered some pocket watches in the past, which were very well worth mentioning.?Just think of the hefty URWERK UR-1001 Zeit Device – which I wouldn’t recommend to put in your pocket, as its weighs 420 grams -, the Parmigiani Tonda Transforma or Panerai’s latest pocket device. Vacheron Constantin takes us back to the days when a pocket watch was slim, elegant and refined, now they just introduced the Patrimoni Contemporaine Pocket Watch; what a beauty!
