Hands-On - Bulgari Aluminium Chronograph Ducati Special Edition
Watches are mechanical instruments that have long been associated with the world of motorsport, most of the time on four wheels. It is no secret that car enthusiasts are often equally passionate about mechanical watches and these two collecting communities have long joined forces. What's true for sports cars is also true for motorbikes and today we'll reveal the result of a collaboration that couldn't be more Italian and stylish. Two Italian icons, both for aesthetics and mechanics. On one side is the legendary motorbike manufacturer Ducati. On the other is the jeweller/watchmaker Bulgari. And when the two join forces, it gives us the edgy Bulgari Aluminium Chronograph Ducati Special Edition.Founded in 1926, since 1946 Ducati builds premium motorcycles characterized by performance engines, distinctive design, and innovative technology. Hublot Classic Fusion 40 Years Anniversary Collection - Review, Price
In Stephen Hawking's universe, the Big Bang signals the beginning of time; in the watchmaking world, it is a best-selling Hublot watch.?Hublot has always been a brand that likes to make noise, a lot of noise. It is loud, explosive and disruptive; a brand that you either love or hate. Although the Big Bang is very much a 21st-century creation, it owes its character to a watch released in 1980. You could say that Carlo Crocco's Hublot watch jump-started the concept of fusion, an unorthodox but refreshing combination of materials that got the brand noticed. And as this watch turns a respectable age in 2020, the brand releases the new Hublot Classic Fusion 40 Years Anniversary collection.Carlo Crocco's unconventional marriage of materialsItalian entrepreneur Carlo Crocco founded the brand MDM Geneve and, after three years of research, launched the Hublot (French for ‘porthole’) at Baselworld in 1980. An unconventional 37mm yellow gold watch with a black rubber strap, this shock
Oris introduces a trio of unisex Aquis Date 36.5mm models.
Geneva Watch Days 2022 brings us a fun trio of Oris Aquis Date models, this time with reserved, unisex cases and earthy mother-of-pearl dials. Don't let the relaxed aesthetics fool you: these are serious divers with a pro depth rating and sophistication that Aquis Date watches are known for. They follow similar yet larger models like the Aquis Date New York Harbor Limited Edition with a green mother-of-pearl dial (almost identical to one of these three), but the smaller size and steel bracelets give them distinctive personalities. Women might be a bit more drawn to these, but they're certainly suitable for anyone above or below the water. The multi-piece stainless steel case has the familiar Aquis Date look with a steel unidirectional rotating bezel and 60-minute scale in relief. At 36.5mm in diameter, it's on the smaller end of the collection but, again, universally sized for just about any wrist. A double-domed sapphire crystal with an interior anti-reflective coating protects the dia
Hands-On - 2022 Tissot Le Locle Powermatic 80 Open Heart
Tissot’s collection covers a large spectrum, ranging from ultra-robust dive watches to racing-oriented chronographs and, the star of the moment, a sporty-chic watch with an integrated bracelet. And because it’s Tissot, all of them are pretty hard to beat in terms of value for money. If you’re looking for something a bit more classic, the Gentlemen is a very compelling option that packs it all. Recently available in an openworked edition, it’s now time for its dressier counterpart, the Tissot Le Locle, to appear in the Open Heart edition, still with a Powermatic-based movement and an extra layer of elegance. We’ve praised the Tissot Gentleman on many occasions here at MONOCHROME. Considering its sub-1k price tag and everything it offers in return, it is one of the best options when it comes to choosing an all-rounder watch. With its steel bracelet, sleek design and comfortable water-resistance, this is a great contender for the one-watch collection. Do-it-al
