The History of the Pilot Watch Part Four: Longines and Lindbergh - Monochrome Watches
Recreating the ubiquitous association between Longines and aviation that existed at the close of the 1920s requires a dash of H.G. Wells' time travel and an active imagination, maybe even some psychotherapy.?When psychologists use a word association test, they ask you to name the first word that comes to mind. Richemont Group 1st Semester 2019 Results - Overall Growth, Watchmaking Maisons Remain Flat - Monochrome Watches
Switzerland-based luxury conglomerate Richemont Group has just issued its trading update for the six months ended 31 September 2019. In these unaudited consolidated results, the Group shows overall growth, however, the situation has to be nuanced: on one side, there is positive impact in the Jewelry Maisons and Online distributors, on the other, almost flat sales on the Watchmaking Maisons coupled with a difficult environment in Hong Kong – one of the Group’s main markets. While Swatch Group’s half-year report 2019 indicated a decline in sales and profitability, as well as massive inventories, main competitor Richemont still reports growth – on a group level, with sales increased by 9% at actual exchange rates to EUR 7,397 million (and by 6% at constant exchange rates). The Group shows growth in all regions, distribution channels and businesses. Still, this has to be nuanced, as the results are not homogeneous.First of all, it has to be noted that this 9% growth
Hands-On - Chopard L.U.C Full Strike Sapphire (Specs & Price)
Launched in 2016, the L.U.C Full Strike was Chopard's first foray into the world of minute repeaters and was a true reimagining of the complication: the watch featured a monobloc sapphire crystal and gong assembly and an independent power source for the striking mechanism, along with a host of safety features preventing the user from accidentally damaging the movement. The Full Strike went on to win the top honour at the 2017 GPHG, the Aiguille d'Or. And now it's time for the sapphire gongs to be joined by a full sapphire crystal case.To mark the 25th anniversary of its Haute Horlogerie L.U.C collection, Chopard has just unveiled a highly limited, five-piece run of the Full Strike, this time with a case made of sapphire. The case of the Full Strike Sapphire shares the same dimensions as the earlier versions of the watch, which means
