The SIHH to welcome 9 creative & Independent Manufactures - Monochrome-Watches
Until now, the SIHH, the watch fair held in January, was known to be a very luxurious exhibition that almost exclusively focuses on the Richemont Group brands. The FHH (Fondation de la Haute Horlogerie), host of the SIHH, just decided to change the format, first by bringing a new architectural concept, but mainly by adding to the list of the exhibiting maisons 9 independent watchmakers – and not the worst ones to be honest.Until now, the SIHH or Salon International de la Haute Horlogerie, was hosted the Geneva-based watch fair for 16 brands. 12 of them are owned by the Richemont Group – A. Lange & Sohne, Baume & Mercier, Cartier, IWC, Jaeger-LeCoultre, Montblanc, Panerai, Piaget, Roger Dubuis, Van Cleef & Arpels and Vacheron Constantin (plus Ralph Lauren watches that is operated by Richemont). In addition to?them, 4 other very high-end manufactures were present: Audemars Piguet, Greubel Forsey?(Richemont owns shares),?Parmigiani Fleurier, and Richard Mille.
Breitling Navitimer 1 Automatic 38 - Baselworld 2018 (specs & price)
We already knew that some changes were about to come at Breitling. We’ve seen it with the introduction of the Navitimer 8, a brand new collection that we explained to you in details. This new strategy will be deployed over all the collections and that includes the iconic Navitimer 1. Here is the first (and drastic) evolution, with the?Navitimer 1 Automatic 38. Don’t be fooled though, it is not the first time that the name Navitimer is printed on the dial of a 3-hand watch, however this is not widely known. During the 1950s, the brand introduced the Ref. 66, an elegant dress watch with 3 hands and date – yet, without the legendary design of the Navi. Ad - Scroll to continue with article

The Collector's Series - The "Cooler than ice-cream" Patek Philippe Nautilus 5726 of Kristian - Monochrome Watches
When I'm speaking to a collector and you glance down to see their watch proudly sports the scuffs and scratches of daily wear, it gently warms the soul. Not only do you know that the owner, more often than not, chooses that watch, but you know it has a story associated with it. As a watch geek, your mission is to try to extract those stories. In many cases, the owner generally does not require much persuasion to give you full brief. This couldn’t have been more true than when I sat down with our old friend Kristian Haagen to discuss his Nautilus 5726. A Genta classic and his current favourite watch. On a leather strap, the Patek Philippe Nautilus 5726 offers a different look to many Nautilus out there. This week Kristian proudly showed us his beaten up Nautilus, what he thinks of Ed Sheeran wearing his watch (well, one like it) and why he became so fond of it.When and where did you buy it Kristian?? Pre-SIHH 2019 - Vacheron Constantin Les Cabinotiers Minute Repeater Tourbillon Sky Chart
The new Vacheron Constantin Les Cabinotiers Minute Repeater Tourbillon Sky Chart is the second unique piece unveiled by the Geneva-based brand in the frame of its pre-SIHH 2019 presentations. Just like the Grande Complication Phoenix we unveiled a few hours ago, the Minute Repeater Tourbillon Sky chart is exceptional in every respect, combining three major complications (tourbillon, minute repeater and sky chart) housed in a white gold case set with 112 baguette-cut diamonds. The 413-part movement is based on the hand-wound calibre 2755 beating at 18,000 vibrations per hour and with 58 hours of power reserve. It is regulated by a one-minute tourbillon and integrates a minute repeater. Turning the watch over, the case back reveals a superb star-gazing invitation and features a representation of the night sky above Geneva. Ad - Scroll to continue with article The M
