Hands-On - Audemars Piguet Royal Oak Selfwinding Chronograph 38mm ref. 26315 (Specs & Price)
Although the launch of?Code 11.59 and the consequent deluge of reactions pretty much eclipsed other novelties of the brand during the SIHH 2019, Audemars Piguet had some treats up its sleeve, including this 38mm Royal Oak Chronograph. Still the same watch as the existing 41mm Royal Oak Chronograph but 3mm smaller, still powered by the same automatic chronograph movement, the new 38mm Royal Oak Chronograph is out to conquer men and women's wrists alike. Three versions, one in rose gold and two in stainless steel, were presented at the SIHH 2019 – and judging by the positive reactions so far, this size might well become a regular member of the Royal Oak Chronograph family.?Designed by Gerald Genta in 1972, the Royal Oak paved the way for the rise of the luxury sports watch genre. A 39mm stainless steel watch for men costing as much or more than a gold dress watch, the Royal Oak featured a commanding octagonal bezel, exposed hexagonal screws, a guilloche “tapisserie dial”
Hands-On - TAG Heuer Monaco 1979-1989 Limited Edition 50th Anniversary Red Dial CAW211W.FC6467 (Specs & Price)
There’s no need to remind you that this year marks the 50th anniversary of multiple milestones for the watch industry – including the Moon landing and the first automatic chronographs – but also the launch of one of the most iconic racing chronographs, the Heuer Monaco. Fifty years ago, this square-shaped watch, with one of the earliest self-winding chrono movements inside (Calibre 11) hit the market. To celebrate fifty years of Monaco, TAG Heuer has prepared several highly exclusive watches, and the second one we present today, the Monaco 1979-1989 Limited Edition, plays on a?red-hot racing theme.50 years of an iconThe Heuer Monaco was presented in 1969. Back then, it was one impressively modern watch, for two reasons. First, the square shape of its case was bold, unprecedented and was matched with an equally bold, brushed blue dial. Second, inside the case was Calibre 11; a movement known as the Chrono-Matic, which was the result of a joint-venture uniting Heuer, Br
Introducing The Poetic Chopard Imperiale Day-Night
Many of our readers associate the brand Chopard with watch collections like the Mille Miglia, the Alpine Eagle and L.U.C overseen by co-president Karl Friedrich-Scheufele. But there is also a feminine face to the brand directed by Caroline Scheufele, co-president and the creative spirit behind Chopard's red carpet jewellery and women's watch collections. The latest model to join the luxurious Imperial collection is this opulent high jewellery watch depicting a mobile sky to indicate night and daytime hours under sculpted lotus motifs.Launched in 1994, the Imperiale collection is closely associated with the lotus flower, including the 2017 GPHG award-winning Lotus Blanc secret watch. Using a variety of techniques, Chopard's artisans have crafted the lotus flower on the dial of the Imperiale in ethical rose gold; the lower half of the dial features solid engraved lotus flowers, while the top part features the silhouette of the flower. Gilded openworked swords-shaped hands indicate the ti

Tissot PRS 516 Automatic Chronograph 2022 Edition - Hands-on, Price
The PRS 516 is one of the most enduring collections of?Tissot, having been introduced first in 1965, following the needs for racing drivers to have a reliable and legible watch. We have then seen multiple watches bearing this name, and the collection is still an important pillar in the collection. Modern PRS 516 watches are clearly not playing on the vintage side of things, with large and sporty designs, yet stay true to the original inspiration of motorsport. This year, the PRS 516 Automatic Chronograph is going under a serious update, with fresh new looks that greatly differ from what we’ve been used to see in the past.?Tissot has a long tradition of sports timing and, as such, racing has long been a topic of choice for the brand. Since 1965 and the introduction of the original PRS 516, the brand has a watch to answer the needs of gentleman drivers. Up until now, the watch was available with an automatic chronograph and a rather modern, pretty unique look with patterned dial
