Petermann Bedat and their Dead-Beat Seconds Calibre 171 Watch
Combining associates' names to create a watch brand is something of a tradition in the watch industry. Illustrious examples include Patek Philippe, Vacheron Constantin, Audemars Piguet or more recently Greubel Forsey. Ga?l Petermann and Florian Bedat are not yet part of the Swiss Haute Horlogerie clique, but the work of these young watchmaking talents truly deserves a closer look Which will give today, with their first (and quite stunning) creation, the Dead-Beat Seconds Calibre 171 watch.Florian Bedat (left) and Ga?l Petermann (right)Now in their late 20s, Ga?l Petermann and Florian Bedat met at the Watchmaking School of Geneva. At the time, the two friends never thought they would be launching their own brand together some 10 years later. Upon graduation, Ga?l ended up working at A. Lange & Sohne and Florian at Harry Winston. Florian decided to join Ga?l in Germany and they shared an apartment in Glashutte. After three years, Ga?l returned to Switzerland to join the Sven Andersen
The return of the Eberhard Scafograf 300 - overview of an Iconic dive watch - Monochrome Watches
Eberhard occupies a great chapter in the history of the Swiss watch industry. However, it belongs to a segment rather obscure and less known from a wider audience. A segment which contains companies likes Venus, Martel, Leonidas, Lemania, Minerva, Excelsior Park, Gallet, Nivada, to name a few but a few that were right from the start instrumental for producing calibres and watches that have propelled, as a whole, the Swiss watch industry unequivocally to its current leading position. So it is quite excited that we're about to explain the return of the Eberhard Scafograf 300, one of the less known but still iconic dive watch.History and Milestones of the Eberhard ScafografFounded in 1887 by Georges Eberhard, in La Chaux-de-Fonds, Eberhard & Co started to produce watches and quickly, it was right at the very edge of creativity. In 1935, innovation centred on the double pulsating chronograph, offering the stop and start functions without having to reset to zero; in 1938, the launch of
Travel Watches - World Timer, GMT and Multiple Time Zones - Monochrome Watches
The vast majority of people are comfortable with watches simply displaying hours and minutes but for globetrotters, frequent travellers and those doing business around the world, multiple time-zone watches are highly practical and purposeful for their daily travelling needs. Here is an in-depth look at an important category, the Travel Watches.Back in 1732-1733, William Hogarth depicted the rise and fall of fictional character Thomas Rakewell through 8 paintings leading him from riches to Bedlam, London's notorious mental hospital, the last painting of the series features lunatics trying to solve the longitude problem with a telescope or scratching on the walls. At the time, determining longitude was one of the major scientific endeavours, to the point of which drove some people insane. Baltic X A Collected Man MR01 Blue Roulette (Specs & Price)
Talking about a success story, the Baltic MR01 has recently been one of the most discussed and sought-after models on the micro-brand scene. And rightfully so, as with its Calatrava-styled case, its thin micro-rotor movement, its charm-packed vintage design and its accessible price, there was a lot to love… so much that the watch is still in shortage a year after its release. But today is your chance to get one. And not a standard one, but a super-cool limited edition with a vintage roulette-styled, Patek-inspired dial, paying tribute to the early Calatrava 96 story. Be aware (and fast), I’m pretty sure there won’t be enough of these MR01 Blue Roulette for A Collected Man.?Everything in the Baltic X A Collected Man MR01 Blue Roulette screams 1930s/1940s Calatrava, but with the right dosage of modernity to make it cool on the wrist in 2022. Already with the classic editions of the Baltic?MR01, the inspiration was clear; the Patek Philippe Calatrava reference 96. And th
Hublot Big Bang Integral 42mm Integrated Bracelet // Introducing, Price
It is hard to overlook the current trend for sports watches with integrated bracelets… They are simply all over the place and in all price segments. Hublot, one of the main participants in the robust luxury sports watch, has been aware of this and already had such an option in its Classic Fusion watch. But, surprisingly, the Big Bang, the sportier, bolder version (a competitor to the RO Offshore) has never been offered on a bracelet… until now. Meet the new Hublot Big Bang Integral collection. While the Classic Fusion could be seen as an alternative to the thin and relatively restrained watches in the luxury sports watch category, the other main collection of Hublot, the Big Bang, is a more robust, even more contrasted version with a larger case, more combinations of materials, more angles, more skeletonization… More of everything, if you like. And while integrated metallic bracelets are everywhere these days, Hublot has been surprisingly quiet in this field. At least
