This year was quite special for the magnificent manufacture A. Lange & Sohne, celebrating the 200th birthday of its founder, Ferdinand Adolph Lange (see the history of watchmaking in Glashutte here). 2 first watches had been introduced, 2 special editions dedicated to this event, the 1815 Limited Edition for the 200th Anniversary of F.A. Lange with black dial and the 1815 Limited Edition for the 200th Anniversary of F.A. Lange in honey gold. Naturally, the 1815 was the appropriate model and the pinnacle of this year of celebration is another special edition of a 1815 watch – and not the simplest one. Here is the?A. Independent Watchmaking - Tsoroev Rashid, One-Man Brand from Russia
Watch enthusiasts come in all shapes and sizes, but one thing that characterizes them all is the passion for the trade. That passion can stem from an encounter with watches getting stuck in one's mind as a fond memory. In some cases, that memory can be so persistent it eventually drives someone down the path of becoming a watchmaker. Small-time watchmakers with stories like this are sprouting left and right, and today we take look at an interesting young man from Russia; Tsoroev Rashid, who's launching his eponymous brand.Creating watches under his own name, Tsoroev Rashid is based in Ingushetia, Russia. Although the vast majority of watchmaking is done in Switzerland, you can find interesting creations scattered around the world, as long as you're willing to go beyond mainstream brands. Russia is primarily known as the birthplace of brands like Raketa, and for those with an interest in independent and highly creative watchmaking, Konstantin Chaykin might be familiar.? Ad -

The 2022 IWC Aquatimer Automatic With 5-Day Movement
During the past decade or so, the IWC Aquatimer has lived a very discreet life since the brand’s promotional activities were mostly dominated by the Pilot’s and Portugieser collections. A dive watch with a classic look, solid construction and original internal bezel construction, the Aquatimer has long been underappreciated. In order to bring the watch back into the game without changing much to its design, IWC has decided to apply the same recipe it used with the new Mark XX Series and new Pilot Chronograph 43. So here’s the 2022 IWC Aquatimer Automatic Collection, now equipped with a 5-day power reserve movement.?The discontinued model, reference IW329001 (left) next to the new version for 2022, reference IW328802 (right)As you can see from our side-by-side comparison above, the evolution of the IWC Aquatimer Automatic is minimal… Or, to make it simple, almost nothing has been changed when it comes to the design, specifications or case dimensions. It’s a
MIH Ga?a Watch - Monochrome Watches
The abbreviation MIH probably doesn’t mean much to most of our readers, except to our hardcore watch enthusiasts (or WIS, which stands for Watch Idiot Savant – another horological abbreviation) who will immediately recognize the acronym. MIH stands for Musee International d’Horlogerie and during the time that Mr Ludwig Oechslin was the curator of the museum, he introduced the MIH Watch. A portion of the proceeds goes to the museum to fund special restoration projects. And now there’s a new MIH Watch called the MIH Ga?a Watch.?The first MIH Watch has been appreciated by watch collectors and enthusiasts from all over the planet. It was sort of a love child of Ludwig Oechslin, Paul Gerber and Christian Gafner. The latter designed the watch, while Oechslin created the annual calendar on top of a Valjoux 7750 chronograph and independent watchmaker Gerber rearranged the chronograph’s actuators and levers for it to become a monopusher chronograph. While that firs
