For the lovers of blue, there is the Ahoi Neomatik 562 NOMOS watch. Who thought grey and blue would go well together? Well, the designers at NOMOS did. This watch is stunning to look at due to the Blue dial contrasting with the stainless steel case attached to the grey (woven) textile strap. It features luminous silver-tone hands and alternating Arabic numeral and index hour markers. The hand for the seconds sub-dial is neon orange, giving this watch a very unique look which makes for a bold statement.

What We Wish The Watchmaking Industry To Do In 2020 // Opinion
New year, new decade and… new expectations too. We, at MONOCHROME, love watches and the watchmaking industry as a whole. No debate. And well, you know the drill, “spare the rod, spoil the child”. Since we enjoy watches and horology that much, we can’t help being critical, expecting more, wanting the industry to improve, to evolve and to offer more. So, as 2020 is kicking off, here’s our wish list of what we’d like to see in watchmaking this year… And if you have your own expectations for 2020, please feel free to share them in the comments at the end of this opinion piece.More creativityWe can easily fall in love with a nicely executed vintage re-edition of a glorious 1960s diver or a steel Panda chronograph. When done well, vintage-inspired watches are extremely desirable. Still, the trend for “heritage” or “reissue” is all over the place, and it has been the case for the last 10 years. If we had to name one single tren
The all new IWC Portofino Chronograph 39 in Three Colours - Monochrome Watches
First introduced in 1984, the Portofino has been one of IWC's most popular collections, catering to both men and women. The design is timeless with an elegant round case and discreet dials. Available in several styles, from a classic three-hander to a complex monopusher chronograph, the Portofino came in several sizes. And today, seemingly out of nowhere and in the middle of the summer holidays, IWC launches a new diameter and new colours for the Portofino Chronograph.?The IWC Portofino collection has always revolved around clean, classically styled dress watches with uncluttered, simple yet handsome designs. The style of the Portofino has always been quite restrained. Sizes run from a petite 34mm to a quite masculine 45mm diameter, with the Portofino Hand-Wound Eight Days, for instance. Strap The very cool Marine Nationale Strap from @ErikasOriginals, Perfect for your Dive Watches - Monochrome Watches
We all love to change straps on our watches, especially when it comes to sports or dive watches. Whether you own a Tudor Black Bay, an Oris Divers Sixty Five, a Seiko Prospex, or all?sorts of watches that are cool and slightly rugged, switching straps is just part of the fun. Of course, it allows you to match it with your “environment” (business, casual, seaside…) or even to your outfit. Recently, we discovered (thanks Ilias…) some very nice straps, which will be perfect for your dive watches and for summer. They are perfect replicas of vintage?Marine Nationale Strap, made by a sweet lady called Erika (@ErikasOriginals) and if you are a vintage collector, you certainly what we are talking about.A bit of history about the?Marine Nationale StrapWhy do we name these straps “Marine Nationale Strap”. In fact, we have to look?back at?military purposes and at?Tudor Watches. The relation between French Navy “Marine Nationale” and Tudor can be tra
Intoducing the Updated Sporty Jaquet Droz Grande Seconde SW (Specs & Price)
When you think Jaquet Droz, you usually have in mind the image of a sleek and elegant watch, characterized by the 8-shaped display of the dial. Most of their collections are on the dressy side, however, it is hard for a mainstream brand to ignore opportunities such as the sports-watch market. But… How to mix the refined and signature display of Jaquet Droz with a?sporty and bold attire? This is the hard task of the Grande Seconde SW collection, which has just been slightly redesigned, with new dials, two-tone versions and metal bracelet options. What we have in front of us is more of an evolution of the collection, to give it a bit of fresh air, rather than an entire facelift. The?Jaquet Droz Grande Seconde SW isn’t a new watch – as we reviewed it here – however for 2017, it will receive some slight visual updates. The?Grande Seconde SW is the bold and visually complex interpretation of the Jaquet Droz 8-figure concept. This collection strongly contrasts with the
First Look: The Vacheron Constantin Traditionnelle and Patrimony 270th-Anniversary Collection
Select members of Vacheron Constantin's Traditionnelle and Patrimony families have been invited to join in the 270th-anniversary celebrations. Eight references from both families have been singled out for the special treatment and flaunt dials decorated with a unique motif created for the 270th anniversary of the brand. As important as the dial, the manufacture calibres are also given distinctive finishings that will set them apart as anniversary pieces. The Traditionnelle collection pays homage to Geneva's haute horlogerie traditions. Distinguished by its classic cases with stepped lugs, fluting and a slender bezel, other features of this family are the railway-style minutes track, the faceted gold Dauphine hour and minute hands and the applied gold hour markers. The Patrimony collection is inspired by the ultra-thin round timepieces crafted by Vacheron Constantin in the 1950s. Characterised by an elegant minimalism, Patrimony timepieces share gently domed dials with slender curved hou
