Hamilton Intra-Matic Automatic Chronograph - Tapping into the Retro Vibe - Monochrome Watches
When I think of Hamilton, either a Ventura or Khaki Field Mechanical immediately come to mind. The Swiss brand is much more than that, of course, with a wide collection of models that are among the best value propositions in the industry. Hamilton is also no stranger to quirky designs as the Ventura line attests, and fun ones like the Jazzmaster Regulator Cinema and Khaki Field Murph keep things interesting. I've never really associated the brand with chronographs, despite its solid history with them, but its recent Hamilton Intra-Matic 68 Chronograph definitely changed my mind.?Inspired by chronographs from their 1960s and 1970s portfolio, specifically the 1968 Chronograph A and B models with reversed panda dials (and 1970 Hamilton Chrono-Matic), the Intra-Matic 68 was a cool and mature throwback but unfortunately limited to 1,968 pieces (and they all sold out). The new Hamilton Intra-Matic Automatic Chronograph is a direct follow-up and maintains a lot of what made its predecessor sp
Bvlgari Octo Finissimo Skeleton Red - hands-on, price
Almost every time we write about Bvlgari, it’s breaking news about another impressive ultra-thin world record Octo Finissimo. Although it does belong to the iconic ultra-thin Octo Finissimo family and bears a lean manual-winding movement, the news today concerns a very effective colour update to an existing Octo Finissimo Skeleton model. Initially launched in 2016 in a black DLC-coated steel case with a pink gold bezel and a dramatically skeletonised movement, the Octo Finissimo Skeleton was revisited in 2018 in an all-black titanium case. The novelty for 2021 is the launch of this matte black ceramic Bvlgari Octo Finissimo Skeleton Red Limited Edition. As one of the most iconic watch designs on the scene today, the Octo fuses elements of classical Roman architecture with powerful avant-garde design. With the advent of the ultra-thin Octo Finissimo line in 2014, Bvlgari proved that slim profiles are not at odds with complex case constructions and all manner of complications. If yo
Introducing: The new Habring2 Oskar, The Felix with a MoonPhase
Following our article about the new Josef Regulator With Dead-Beat Seconds, it’s time now to introduce the second watch released by Habring2 in the frame of the brand’s 20th-anniversary celebrations. Founded in 2004 by couple Maria and Richard Habring, Habring2 is one of the very few watchmakers to operate in Austria and, over the years, it has managed to manufacture highly appealing hand-made, in-house developed watches. The latest in line is an elegant, slightly retro-styled watch that takes the concept of Felix one step further. Meet the Habring2 Oskar with moon phase display and with or without pointer date.?The new Oskar is largely based on the Felix model, a watch of high importance in the brand’s portfolio, as it heralded the era of Habring2’s own manufactory movements. For the first 10 years of its existence, the brand relied on ETA ebauches, heavily modified to meet the brand’s requirements in terms of complications. In 2014, with Felix, Habring2

Today, Tissot is paying tribute to its most classic collection, a watch that was released 20 years ago, itself being a piece commemorating the rich past of the brand. Founded in the small town of Le Locle in Switzerland back in 1853, Tissot celebrated its 150th anniversary in 2003 by releasing an elegant, refined yet affordable collection aptly named Le Locle. A well-established cornerstone model, this lineup is now celebrating 20 years of production and Tissot presents a special edition watch for the occasion.Chemin des Tourelles, Gentleman or Le Locle… There is more than one classic, elegant-ish collection at Tissot. Round case, polished surfaces, relatively compact dimensions, no lume on the hands and Roman numerals with dials bearing a traditional texture. Classic elegance, refinement and a watch that will please people with classic tastes and those who want to maintain a low profile i
