Chopard L.U.C Qualite Fleurier Chronometer - Hands-on with live photos, specs and price - Monochrome-Watches
Chopard might not be the first brand to come to your mind when thinking about Haute Horlogerie and dress watches. You might first?think of?Patek Philippe, Vacheron Constantin or Breguet. However, when having a closer look at?the wide range of watches produced by Chopard, there is a collection worthy of (horological) interest, a collection with in-house movements, with superb finishes and with timepieces adorned with the Geneva Seal… and with another certification called ‘Qualite Fleurier’, said to be even more rigorous. We look at?one of these watches, the Chopard L.U.C Qualite Fleurier Chronometer with Ruthenium dial. The?Chopard L.U.C Qualite Fleurier Chronometer is the essence of a dress watch. We already gave you our opinion about what we believe?such watches should be when reviewing the Girard-Perregaux 1966. It has to be a rather small timepiece, with a simple dial, a potentially conservative design and a thin case. Precious materials are of course always welcome

Hands-On - Jaeger-LeCoultre Rendez-Vous Night & Day Jewellery Watch (Specs & Price)
Earlier this year, at the Salon International de la Haute Horlogerie (SIHH), Jaeger-LeCoultre pulled out all the stops for its women's watches. The brand's much-coveted Rendez-Vous collection (released seven years ago in 2012 and created just for women) was top on the list when it came to new editions. Of particular note were the high jewellery pieces that flaunted new dials, new moon phase discs and beautiful prong settings. Always a beloved complication, the day/night complication takes centre stage in the new Rendez-Vous Night & Day Jewellery watch. Created in either 18k white gold or 18k rose gold, the new versions feature an exceptional prong setting of diamonds. Prong setting is not typically used in watchmaking for a host of reasons, including the fact that if not executed with extreme precision and perfect craftsmanship, the prong could snag clothing. Vintage Jaeger LeCoultre Memovox International - Monochrome Watches
When Jaeger-LeCoultre introduced the Memovox International, earlier this year, I had no idea it had an ancestor. However while browsing Ebay last night, I found a beautiful vintage version of the Memovox International. I never saw the old version before, but it looks great. Check it out.At SIHH 2010 Jaeger-LeCoultre introduced?the Master Memovox International, originally created for the brand's 125th anniversary in 1958 and also known as the Memovox Worldtimer. The alarm disk on both Memovox versions features different cities and regions. Besides this, the brand name on the dial is probably the only similarity. The new version is fitted with calibre 956, featuring a large free-sprung balance and a winding rotor on ceramic ball bearings that needs no lubrication or maintenance. Inside the vintage Memovox Worldtimer ticks of course another movement (calibre 2612.1). Ad - Scroll to continue with article
