Introducing The Turquoise Audemars Royal Oak 37mm 15550BA
Audemars Piguet was famous for its use of stones in the 1960s and the 1990s, with dials made from lapis lazuli, aventurine, garnet, mother-of-pearl, opal, ruby, amethyst and other stones. Turquoise is one of the oldest known stones, as Egyptian and Chinese civilizations used it over 3000 years ago. It here finds its place in the collection for its unique colour and spiritual qualities. The new Royal Oak Selfwinding 37mm 15550BA in 18k yellow gold with a dial cut from a turquoise stone is the first to offer this combination of materials and is another addition to the very few “no-tapisserie” Royal Oak watches. The versatile, mid-size 37mm versions of the Royal Oak collection were added to the series only in 2012 but were updated last year, in line with the design evolution of the brand from Le Brassus –?released to mark the 50th anniversary of its omni-important model, created by Gerald Genta in 1972. The new generation of 37mm Royal Oaks got a slimmer case, down from 9

Hands-On - Patek Philippe Annual Calendar 5205G Gradient Blue Dial (Specs & Price)
Blue dials have been popular for some time now. So much so, that they have almost become the rule instead of the exception. To stand out from the crowd with a blue dial nowadays, you are going to have to pull off something special. That's exactly what Patek Philippe has done with the latest iteration of its reference 5205G. Although not a new watch per se, the addition of a mouth-wateringly delicious blue gradient dial has reinvented this model in my eyes, driving its desirability factor through the roof. We spent some time hands-on with this watch recently, and let me tell you, the only thing harder than capturing the gorgeous blue tones was giving it back.If you're a watchmaking devotee, then you no doubt already know that Patek Philippe invented and patented the Annual Calendar complication back in 1996. More functional than a standard calendar, and more accessible than a perpetual calendar, it can automatically account for the difference in the number of days in each month (with th
Richard Mille Tourbillon G-Sensor RM-036 Jean Todt Limited Edition - Monochrome Watches
An outrageous idea that a watchmaker dreams up, and developing it into a fully functional timepiece really inspires me. Take for instance the Oculus-mechanism in the Valbray V.01 or the liquid hour marker in the HYT H1 are perfect examples of such out-of-the-box creativity. Richard Mille in its own right, is a brand not shy of pushing the proverbial envelope as well. Always innovative, always creative, and quite frankly, always stunning to withhold. Even for those who might not find the design appealing, the craftsmanship is most certainly appreciative. RM is no stranger to (motor)sports, having already released quite a number of timepieces involving key-ambassadors like racing drivers Felipe Massa and Jules Bianchi. Both of these men represent wh
