News: Frederic Arnault Named CEO of LVMH Watches, Julien Tornare CEO of TAG Heuer
For some months now, we’ve heard and seen evidence that things were about to change at LVMH, a reshuffling strategy that industry insiders love to call the musical chairs of management. Things are now official as Julien Tornare, ex-CEO of Zenith, becomes CEO of TAG Heuer. He’s replaced in this role by Benoit de Clerck, who previously was COO of?Panerai, a branch of LVMH’s competitor, the Richemont Group. However, while many insiders expected Frederic Arnault, the son of the Group’s owner Bernard Arnault and ex-CEO of TAG Heuer, to take the lead at Bulgari, things appear different. Instead, he’ll take the position of CEO of LVMH Watches (a new role), overseeing Hublot, TAG Heuer and Zenith.?Frederic Arnault, ex-CEO of TAG Heuer, now appointed to a newly-created role, CEO of LVMH Watches29-year-old Frederic Arnault, who joined TAG Heuer in 2018 as Head of Strategy, later to become CEO of the company in 2020, has just been promoted to a different position, th

Introducing Patek Philippe Calatrava "Clous de Paris" 6119 Hand-Wound
The Patek Philippe Calatrava is a horological icon that deserves little to no introduction. Presented in 1932 under reference 96, the model is seen by many as the ultimate dress watch. Among the countless versions of the Calatrava, the Clous de Paris has turned into a Patek Philippe trademark since its introduction on the bezel of the reference 96D in 1934. Fast forward to modern days, the emblematic reference 3919 was introduced in 1985 and has often been regarded as the quintessential Calatrava. This unapologetically elegant 33mm dress watch was powered by the micro-rotor calibre 215. The reference 5119 introduced in 2006 was slightly larger at 36mm. It’s now time for the model to reinvent itself with a larger, modernized version. Meet the Patek Philippe Calatrava 6119 and its new hand-wound calibre. The classic look of the Calatrava, as known for years, with the Clou de Paris bezel. Ulysse Nardin partners with The Ocean Race and creates a unique Diver
Ulysse Nardin’s history has forever been intertwined with aquatic life. From very early on, the young watchmaker who started the eponymous company dedicated his work to high-precision chronometry to be used in marine navigation. By 1870, Ulysse Nardin would have already supplied marine chronometers to over 50 of the most formidable navies around the world. With a reputation as profound as UN's, it's only natural to see the company still dedicating part of its operations to the nautical side of watchmaking. Through collections such as the Marine Torpilleur and Diver, the heritage is kept very much alive. Yet, as time progresses, so has Ulysse Nardin as it now embraces the preservation of ocean life with the use of innovative, recycled materials in the new Ulysse Nardin The Ocean Race Diver. The push for sustainability is very much getting up to steam within the watchmaking industry, and we applaud that very much. Through companies like Gyre, Alpina, Oris, Seiko and others, we see m
New editions for the Ulysse Nardin Dual Time Manufacture - Monochrome-Watches
Ulysse Nardin is a productive and innovative manufacture, able to create incredible watches such as the newly introduced Ulysse Nardin FreakLab or the Anchor Escapement. Both are however expensive watches totally?focused on R&D. On the other side of the range, there are watches that might show a (visually) simpler technical content but that are however also full of interest. One of them is the?Ulysse Nardin Dual Time Manufacture that was introduced last year at Baselworld and that comes with an in-house movement. This year, the collection is updated with two fresh editions. The?Ulysse Nardin Dual Time Manufacture was previously available in 4 editions – stainless steel case with silver dial,?stainless steel case with black dial (both also available on a metallic bracelet), 18k rose gold case with a silver dial and 18k rose gold case with a black dial. For 2015, we have 2 new editions. The first one is an ultra-classic and elegant 18k rose gold case with a warm ivory dial, some
