Blue does not look as lovely most any other colors as it looks with silver in the Diver 300m Co-axial Master Chronometer Chronograph 44mm by Omega. This gives the watch an overall sophisticated appearance with the white markers and numbers. The anti-magnetic steel watch has a helium-escape and small seconds' windows in it. The transparent case back is another fascination for those who love the soft ticking of a watch.

Hands-on: The Brutalist Audemars Piguet [Re]Master02 (Incl. Video)
Audemars Piguet launched its first [Re]Master model with the recreation of a superb chronograph from the 1940s. For the second chapter of this historical collection, the brand reimagines one of its most expressive designs from the 1960s. A model of brutalist inspiration, the reference 5159BA stands out with its yellow gold asymmetrical case and eccentric shape. As for the first [Re]Master, the idea is not to present a mere copy of a past model, but to reimagine it with a modern eye Just like the remastering of music records. Meet the Audemars Piguet [Re]master02 Selfwinding reference 15240SG.Beyond the design conventions dictated by the round wristwatch, Audemars Piguet has a long, rich legacy of shaped watches. The brand has always distinguished itself with its unique ability to disrupt the norms or break the rules. The manufacture’s creations adopt a wide variety of forms, starting with the Royal Oak, a transgressive watch that became?a cultural icon.? Ad - Scroll to
Five watches presented this year that shows it's hip to be square
Heuy Lewis & The News sang “It’s Hip To Be Square” in their hit song from 1986 and in watches, you could kind of say the same. Amongst watches, square ones always tend to stand out a bit more, and few have even stood the test of time and earned the status of horological icon. Watches like the TAG Heuer Monaco or Cartier Santos need little introduction, really. But more recent offerings tend to tap into the same group of possible clientele that’s into square-shaped watches. And to be honest, I have two on my personal wishlist as well. there’s just something unique about having a square watch on the wrist. So with that in mind, we’re taking a closer look at 5 new watches with a square(-ish) case!TAG Heuer Monaco Purple EditionArguably one of the most famous square watches available, the TAG Heuer Monaco has become an icon thanks to a brilliant marketing ploy by Jack Heuer, using the Monaco Grand Prix and Steve McQueen to make it beyond cool. Interview - Luc Pettavino About Only Watch 2019
The eighth edition of the biennial fundraiser for research on Muscular Dystrophy will take place on Saturday 9 November 2019 in Geneva, where unique timepieces created by some of the world's best watchmakers will be auctioned. We took some time in Baselworld to meet its founder Luc Pettavino, President of the “Association Monegasque Contre les Myopathies”, to discuss the new edition and its programme. How did you start Only Watch?I was the organizer of the Monaco Yacht Show. In 1999, just before the Yacht Show, I saw a TV programme with Jean-Claude Biver. At the Yacht Show, Jean-Claude was visiting Wally Yachts, I went to introduce myself and Blancpain became a sponsor of the Yacht Show. This is how I got to know the Swatch Group. I had already created some themed charity auctions based on arts or unique creations from diverse brands (editor's note, Luc Pettavino's late son, Paul, suffered from muscular dystrophy). In 2004, I thought I was contributing to research but that w
RGM Model 222-RR Classic Montgomery (Specs & Price)
RGM is celebrating its 30th anniversary with the introduction of a couple of new watches, including an updated Model 222-RR. The American watchmaker released this model in 2017 for its 25th anniversary and following an update in 2020 with a Type II Montgomery Railroad Dial, we have this latest variant with a Type I Montgomery dial. The original aesthetic was patented at the start of the 20th century and has specific design elements for professional railroad-grade watches. Although RGM has several in-house movements under its belt, founder Roland Murphy also appreciates the classics and uses two vintage (fully restored) Hamilton pocket watch movements for authenticity and just the coolness factor. The stainless steel case is unchanged from prior iterations, coming in at 41mm in diameter and 12mm in height (lug-to-lug is 52mm). There are modern sapphire crystals front and back, and water resistance is rated at 50 metres. So, this is a modern watch with classic elements, much like a restom
Introducing a new Kickstarter-like project, the Elie Watch by Olivier Jonquet - Monochrome Watches
Pre-registration projects are booming actually and Kickstarter-like method seems to be the way to create a new brand. So does for example Vincent Plomb with the newly introduced VicenTerra Luna. Here is another of these projects presented by a French team, a 1930's inspired cushion case that features an old (but restored) movement. An interesting approach of watchmaking that infuses some fresh air in a very conservative market - we present you the Elie Watch by Olivier Jonquet.Subscription projects are very popular in the entertainment industry, as for example launching new artists. But in the world of watchmaking, that's something quite new but that we, here at Monochrome Watches, are quite fond of. Creating a new brand without any previous track record is hard to imagine. This Kickstarter-like method allows the brand to raise funds before launching the product and it involves the clients in the project, and thus creating a strong link between them. And what is good for us here: it br
