Launched in the year 2005, the Omega Seamaster Planet Ocean 215.30.40.20.04.001 came through strongly as a radiant white and silver sight. The dial itself represents a certain clarity that is difficult to find anywhere; the Arabic numerals and the arrowhead hands provide a precision like never before. Being water resistant and anti-magnetic, it won't end here: the whole look is completed with the date showing at the 3 o'clock position.

Bulgari Octo Finissimo Tourbillon Automatic - World's Thinnest Automatic Watch and Tourbillon - Baselworld 2018 (Live Pics, Specs & Price)
Game on! The race between?Bvlgari and Piaget to prove who can manufacture the thinnest watch in the world continues. At Baselworld 2017,?Bvlgari introduced the Octo Finissimo Automatic, a true luxury sports watch with a bold design and the thinnest automatic movement on the market. At the SIHH 2018, Piaget trumpeted not one, but two world records: the thinnest mechanical watch ever and the thinnest automatic watch. Baselworld 2018 has opened its doors and?Bvlgari sets two new records in a single watch: the world’s thinnest tourbillon watch and the world’s thinnest automatic watch. Meet the new?Bvlgari Octo Finissimo Tourbillon Automatic – and yes, it is paper thin, at 3.95mm thick.Although Piaget caught up in the race for ultra-thin at the SIHH 2018, Bvlgari wasn’t short of record-thin watches. Even if Bvlgari’s title for the thinnest automatic watch was challenged by Piaget with its Altiplano?Ultimate Automatic 910P – a 4.30mm thick watch with a per
IWC Pilot's Watch Chronograph IW377724 With New Dial (Specs & Price)
In 2017, IWC took us by surprise when presenting the desirable, vintage-inspired and definitely cool?Pilot's Watch Mark XVIII Edition Tribute to Mark XI. Now, it’s time for the Schaffhausen-based brand to focus on the chronograph version of this watch and to apply the same recipe: baton hands, faux-patine markers, cleaner dial and fabric strap. And if the 3-hander was mimicking the Mark XI, the new?IWC Pilot’s Watch Chronograph IW377724 is reminiscent of one of the coolest 1990s watches, the?Fliegerchronograph ref. 3706.The?Fliegerchronograph 3705 and 3706 are important watches in IWC’s history, as they marked the comeback of the brand in the field of mechanical pilot watches. Over 20 years ago, these 39mm watches, with Valjoux-based chonograph movements were a sort of renaissance of the proper tool watch and for this reason, they are some of the coolest “young-timers” we can think of. And guess what? IWC has decided to create a watch that looks like these
SIHH 2018 - Patrick Pruniaux of Ulysse Nardin, On The New Collection
The SIHH 2018 has closed its doors yesterday, however we still have some videos to share with you. One of them concerns?Patrick Pruniaux, the recently appointed CEO of Ulysse Nardin, who is presenting the new collection… And there were some novelties, which look at many of the brand’s specialities: innovation, heritage and erotic watches (parental advisory, explicit content…)First watch presented by?Patrick?Pruniaux is to be seen as a cool entry-level option, the Torpilleur Military, a vintage take on the classical Marine Chronometer collection. Second – and this one deserve some attention – is the Freak Vision, a brand new take on an iconic collection, which incorporates several of the innovations introduced in 2017 on the InnoVision 2. Superb display, innovative winding mechanism, technical escapement and a new design, slimmer and more modern… Well done.Last but not least is the Voyeur, an erotic watch with automatons on the dial… depicting q
Pre-SIHH 2015: Piaget Altiplano Chronograph Flyback - a new record setter (specs and price) - Monochrome-Watches
If we had to?categorize Piaget into a single subject, it would be for its ultra-slim watches. The brand is indeed not only good at it, it is the unbeatable leader. The?Altiplano has always been the preferred field for Piaget to set thickness records (well, an?absence of thickness to be precise). Last year, the brand came up with the?slimmest of the?slim watches. For the 2015 edition of the SIHH, Piaget?surprises us with a another record: the slimmest chronograph?ever produced, the?Piaget Altiplano Chronograph Flyback. And its?thinness is not its only interesting feature. One single data can sum-up Piaget’s?indisputable?hegemony: 3.65mm. Yes, that’s the thickness of a sapphire crystal, a case, a dial, a set of hands, a movement and a caseback. The Piaget Altiplano 900P is truly impressive. Until?now, Piaget has?accustomed us to slim but simple watches: time-only, small second or date were the only indications displayed on the Altiplano’s dials, which of course remains e
Talking Watches, Blogging, Speedy Tuesday and Selling Watches with Fratello's Founder Robert-Jan Broer - Monochrome Watches
I guess you know Robert-Jan Broer, founder of the Fratellowatches online magazine, initiator of #SpeedyTuesday, and the Speedy Tuesday limited editions that OMEGA introduced in the past years. Robert-Jan and I met some fifteen years ago in The Hague, Netherlands, where both of us lived. We were both watch enthusiasts, and we craved more opportunities to talk about watches with like-minded folk. And both of us started a WordPress blog about the watches we loved so much, and for many years, we drove to Baselworld together. Robert-Jan got his Fratellowatches blog intertwined with Ebner Verlag, a German publishing house and later bought it back to team up with Chrono24. Over the past two years, Fratellowatches has gone from publishing to selling pre-owned watches, selling their own Limited Editions, and even new watches from some major watch brands. We’re talking with Robert-Jan Broer about his journey with Fratellowatches.? On the road to Basel… Who’
