Luxury Watches |
The Seamaster series by Omega has some of the most powerful watches. The Co-axial Master Chronometer 39.5 MM from this collection has a black textured leather band with a rubber lining. This makes it look tough and feel smooth to touch. The black dial looks livelier with white hour markers and a date window near the 3 o'clock mark. This is perfect for sea divers as it can withstand high water pressure and has a helium-escape too.

Hands-On - A. Lange & Sohne Saxonia Outsize Date Silver Dial (price)
Coinciding with the thirtieth anniversary of the revival of A. Lange & Sohne, a new argente version of the Saxonia Outsize Date was released in December 2020 to sit alongside the existing black dial models of 2018. Identical in specifications to the 2018 Outsize Date, the novelty here was a new silvery-coloured dial. What might have been interpreted as a cosmetic touch marked a significant change in mood as the Outsize Date navigated back into more classic waters. Available in 18k white or pink gold cases, we were able to spend some time with the pink gold model. The Saxonia Outsize Date is all about symmetry and minimalism, having a superbly balanced dial.Saxonia LoreAs all of our readers steeped in A. Lange & Sohne lore know, the Saxonia was part of the initial quartet of watches launched in 1994 by Walter Lange and Gunter Blumlein to mark the renaissance of the brand. The name Saxonia' was chosen to honour the German region of Saxony where Ferdinand Adolph Lange erected his m
Introducing the Cle de Cartier Mysterious Hour (specs & price)
When first revealed at the 2015 edition of the Salon International de la Haute Horlogerie (the SIHH), the Cle de Cartier has been warmly welcomed by both the horological press and collectors, mainly because of its pure, rakish and clean design, set purely in the vein of the Cartier tradition. The curved profile, the clever integration of the crown and the modern interpretation?are?key elements of its success. This watch, which?was still only available with a simple (in-house) movement, comes now with an interesting?mysterious movement complication. Here is the?Cle de Cartier Mysterious Hour.Using the same oval and curved case (with a great comfort on the wrist) and the same key-style crown (Cle in French), Cartier adds to its latest addition a more complicated, yet quite intriguing movement and dial, where the hands seem to float over the dial – with no mechanical link with the rest of the movement – something we already showed you here, with the Rotonde de Cartier?Mysterio
Oris Carysfort Reef Limited Edition Steel - Hands-On, Price
The figures speak for themselves: over the last 30 years, scientists calculate that 50% of the world's coral reefs have died and without direct action could be extinct in 80 years. Coral reefs are now the most endangered ecosystems on the planet and their extinction would mark the first time humanity has faced the loss of an entire ecosystem. The upside of these gloomy facts is that coral can be saved. Oris has taken a special interest in different foundations that are restoring the life of coral reefs by allocating a percentage of sales generated with these limited edition watches. Last year, Oris supported the Reef Restoration Foundation with the Great Barrier Reef watch. The partnership with Coral Restoration Foundation (CRF) dates back to 2014. This year, Oris renews its commitment to CRF and in January 2020 released the Carysfort Reef Limited Edition, the brand’s first watch in solid gold. Today, a second Carysfort Reed model is released in stainless steel. The watch is a li
Cuervo y Sobrinos Historiador Doble Luna (Specs & Price)
The brand that started life in Havana, Cuba, in 1882 and winged its way across the Atlantic to resettle in Capolago, a tiny Swiss village on the shores of Lake Lugano, proposes a double moon phase indication to reveal the cycles of the Moon in both Hemispheres. Staged against an anthracite dial with golden touches, the day, date and month are also featured on the dial. Playing on the brand's Havana links, the functions are housed inside the brand's vintage-inspired Historiador case with its prominent lugs and showy black and gilt dial. This is not the first moon phase and full calendar watch in the Historiador collection. Last year we saw a similar watch, the Luna Negra, with a partially skeletonised dial but limited to moon phases in the Northern Hemisphere. By far the best-stocked collection at Cuervo y Sobrinos, the Historiador has appeared in simple time-and-date, retrograde, GMT, small seconds, moon phase and now, the Cuervo y Sobrinos Historiador Doble Luna. Hands-on with the Vacheron Constantin Patrimony Traditionnelle Small Seconds - Monochrome Watches
Recently we had the chance to get up close and personal with the new Patrimony Traditionnelle Small Seconds in platinum, that Vacheron Constantin introduced earlier this year at the SIHH. This new model has all the looks and attributes of a classic dress watch, and it’s one of the most attractive classic dress watches that we have seen in a long time.?Part of its great looks, is that it is not the standard classic dress watch and sets itself a bit apart from other dress watches in pink/yellow gold with a silver/white dial. The grey dial with the slightly recessed small seconds sub dial that is encircled by a rail track seconds index. looks a tad more sporty than a standard dress watch’s dial. And that perfectly matches with the platinum case, that measures 38 mm in diameter and 7.77 mm in height. Not too small, not too big… Vacheron Constantin got it just right.?
