Hands-On - Laurent Ferrier Classic Origin Opaline Titanium (Price)
Laurent Ferrier is coming up for its tenth anniversary this year and celebrates with the release of this Classic Origin Opaline watch in a 40mm Grade 5 titanium case and the pared-down elegance we have come to associate with Laurent Ferrier. The first time the brand recurs to titanium, this straightforward time-only model with small seconds at 6 o'clock has an elegant dash of sportiness with touches of burgundy and grey on the dial. And in addition to that, there’s also a version of the brand’s proprietary movement inside. From strength to strengthNot many watchmakers found a brand, produce a watch and win an important prize in the same year. The son and grandson of watchmakers with a long career at Patek Philippe as creative director, Laurent Ferrier went solo in 2010 setting up shop in Geneva. His first watch, the Galet Classic Tourbillon Double Spiral secured the men's watch prize at the GPHG 2010. Its deceptively simple dial with no trace of a tourbillon belied the sophi

Circula again relied on the help of the public when designing the Protrail
For those who have been keeping a close eye on MONOCHROME Watches, and Circula Watches in particular, it should come as no surprise that we like the strategy of employing the “power of the people”. And honestly, the resulting collections are often fine examples of well-built, honest watchmaking. When creating a new watch, Circula enlists the help of watch enthusiasts and collectors to determine the final design of new collections. A case in point is the all-new Circula ProTrail Automatic, the revived company’s first-ever field watch. Designed with input from the public, the new collection came to life through a multitude of options. Today we can show you one of the three models that will be available: the production-ready Circula ProTrail Automatic.Back in February, we informed you that Circula was working on a new field watch to be added to the brand’s portfolio of tool watches. Through a dedicated co-creation page, you could vote for things like the name of th
The Vacheron Constantin Metiers d'Art Tribute To Explorer Naturalists
Vacheron Constantin has long demonstrated a commitment to perpetuate and encourage the traditional and often rare metiers d’art skills. The brand’s Metiers d’Art watches find their inspiration in art, history, and culture. On the occasion of Watches and Wonders Shanghai 2023, a new chapter in this collection is unveiled with a quartet of limited edition watches in tribute to explorer naturalists. The theme will unmistakably evoke some of the brand’s past metier d’art creations, such as the Mercator, Audubon or Great Explorers series. For this new Metiers d’Art collection, Vacheron Constantin has invited collectors to embark on board the HMS Beagle alongside the most illustrious 19th-century naturalists (including Charles Darwin) as the British ship travelled around the world in the 1830s. The five-year journey and discoveries of the Beagle provided the theme to grace these four watches with compelling historical, botanical or zoological decorations.
