A. Lange & Sohne 1815 Rattrapante Honeygold - Review, Price
Today, we’ll review a special watch… Sure, it looks stunning, but there’s far more to this watch than its pretty face. The 1815 Rattrapante Honeygold represents many things. First of all, it’s always a pleasure to see an A. Lange & Sohne made of 18k Honeygold, the brand’s proprietary gold alloy, always reserved for special occasions. Second, this watch celebrates the founder of both the watchmaking industry in Glashutte and the Lange brand. Finally, and this is hard to believe after so many watches with a chronograph function, but this is the first stand-alone split-seconds chronograph of A. Lange & Sohne. Superbly executed and quite spectacular… Let’s dive into the details that make this 1815 Rattrapante Honeygold a pretty special watch.?Homage to F.A. Lange and to 175 years of watchmaking in GlashutteThe 1815 Rattrapante Honeygold is part of an important trilogy of watches for the brand, all executed in the same proprietary gold alloy
Ulysse Nardin Diver Deep Dive SIHH 2018 (Specs & Price)
Bold, bold and… Bold! Yes, this new?Ulysse Nardin Diver Deep Dive is anything but discreet and is a proper tool watch built to withstand immense pressure. What you see is the?new hero piece of the Ulysse Nardin Diver Collection. For the SIHH 2018, Ulysse Nardin is not only playing its innovation and fine craftsmanship cards, it’s also rekindling the design inspirations that made the brand popular a few years ago. Here’s our overview of this strong, powerful dive watch.Ulysse Nardin is renowned for its close ties to the sea, characterised by a long tradition of producing marine chronometers. More recently, however, Ulysse Nardin has gained popularity thanks to its bold, masculine dive watches grouped under the Diver collection. While this collection has been slightly overshadowed by the Marine (with the new Marine Torpilleur or the redesigned Marine Chronometers), this year the Ulysse Nardin Diver stages a comeback and makes a big splash! Interview Julien Tornare CEO Zenith on 2021 Strategy and Chronomaster
During the digital version of LVMH Watch Week, Bvlgari, Hublot and Zenith presented some of their novelties for 2021. It was also an opportunity for MONOCHROME to interview Julien Tornare, the CEO of Zenith, to find out how the brand has navigated 2020 and to take a look at the brand's strategy for 2021.Xavier Markl, MONOCHROME – Needless to say, 2020 was a challenging year. What tactics did Zenith adopt to navigate the difficulties?Julien Tornare, Zenith – It has been an intense year. Following the celebration of the 50th anniversary of the El Primero, we kicked off 2020 in Dubai with the LVMH Watch Week 2020, where the presentation of our novelties encountered great enthusiasm. Then came the lockdown during which we had to close the manufacture for six weeks. It's been tough months for the watch industry. We wondered what we could do Traditional resilience planning was not enough and I asked my team to be very active, to take initiatives and to speed up the digitalization
MB&F HM6 RT Space Pirate, now In Red Gold (specs & price) - Monochrome-Watches
The HM6 is, to date, the most complicated and crazy (both technically and visually) MB&F ever. When we reviewed it end of last year, we?couldn’t resist saying that this Space Pirate was a strange object. However, after a few months, it seems that this strangeness tends to disappear and that the inspirations?become clearly obvious – and really bold (something confirmed as MB&F just?won the?Red Dot: Best of the Best Award). After the first and seemingly cold edition made of titanium, it’s now time for MB&F to introduce a warmer, more luxurious edition in Red Gold (and not any alloy to be precise). On this RT edition of the HM6 Space Pirate, MB&F replaces titanium by a specific gold alloy called 5N+ (in this case, the + makes all the difference and 5N is the actual name for any red gold alloy). Just like some brands like (with the Everose gold) or Omega (with the Sedna gold), MB&F comes with their?own gold?that includes Palladium in order to stabiliz
Panerai's desire to move up - Monochrome Watches
Panerai’s desire to move up? That’s at least what it seems like, now they’ve come with a bunch of new models featuring their new in-house movements.Over the last few months Panerai has introduced a number of new models, featuring their own new in-house movements… and a new price list. And since I’ve been planning to buy a new brother for my old PAM 00001 B series (1999), I had a good look at the new price list. Ad - Scroll to continue with article I don’t want to buy another Panerai with the same movement as my beloved old PAM 00001, which is a ETA/Unitas 6497 with reworked bridges and a much better finish. So the in-house movements sound interesting… A few weeks ago I already showed photos of one of the new Panerai models and now I finally know the price… which was a bit of a shock. As usual, my taste transcends m
