Introducing: Vacheron Constantin Overseas World Time 7700V, the luxury worldtimer sports watch - Specs and Price - Monochrome Watches
This year, at the SIHH 2016, Vacheron Constantin came with?a brand new Overseas collection, and they introduced no less than 5 models: the?automatic?3-hand 4500V, the?Chronograph 5500V, the?Ultra-Slim 2000V, the?Ultra-Slim Perpetual Calendar and a ladies’ version (that we didn’t cover.) That’s already a complete collection, you could say. Especially for a newly introduced collection. However Vacheron Constantin decided to launch?some more Overseas models, and what could make more sense than the sporty chic Overseas with the most befitting complication for this type of watch, a worldtimer. Here’s the new Vacheron Constantin Overseas World Time 7700V. Oh and it comes with the Geneva Hallmark quality seal, and is available in three different colours.I guess we could say that 2016 is a proper Overseas year for Vacheron Constantin. After a few modest years, in terms of novelties, the brand already made a strong impression with last year’s Harmony collection tha
Tudor Predictions 2024 - The Potential Return of the Tudor Oysterdate Big Block
A few days ago, the MONOCHROME team delivered our yearly forecast of potential launches for the 2024 Collection. As always, we try our best to guess what the Crown will be presenting at the watch industry’s largest fair, Watches and Wonders. While trying to imagine and design these potential models, we also started to think about its sister brand, Tudor. This year, we’ve had intriguing snippets of evidence about what could be the main new model to be released by the brand in April 2024… A mix of a unique piece presented for Only Watch and an unexpected return of Tudor to motorsports?as the partner of Visa Cash App RB Formula 1 Team, which made us realise that it could well be the year of the return of the Tudor Oysterdate Big Block Chronograph.?Brands like and Tudor don’t do things without a commercial reason. Brands of such stature don’t get involved in multi-million partnerships with a Formula 1 team without a commercial goal. There is, without a d
IWC adds the stainless steel Ingenieur Dual Time to the Ingenieur collection - Monochrome Watches
Every year IWC redesigns / updates one of the six ‘families’ in their collection and this year that was the Aquatimer family. Last year it was the Ingenieur family of watches that we extensively covered?here, here, here and here. Although this is the ‘Aquatimer year’, IWC has just announced two new members of the Ingenieur family of watches: a carbon/ceramic Ingenieur Automatic and a stainless steel Ingenieur Dual Time with either a silver-plated or a black dial.?The new Ingenieur Dual Time merges the functionality of the Ingenieur Dual Time Titanium (that we reviewed here) with the aesthetics of the Ingenieur Automatic (fully reviewed here). Not only in terms of functionality, but also in terms of size, it stays close to the titanium Dual Time, measuring 43 mm in diameter and 13.5 mm in height. The new Ingenieur Dual Time is?an alternative for the GMT-Master II, because it features a similar functionality that is?the independently adjustable hour hand. Someth

That’s one small step for a man, one giant leap for mankind. These words from Neil Armstrong still resonate in the heart of everyone on earth, even 45 years after the Apollo 11 team landed on the Moon. Of course, Armstrong, Aldrin and Collins had tons of the best equipment with them but the one that clearly appeals most to us is the small,?rudimentary, basic, old-fashioned mechanical Omega Speedmaster strapped onto each of their wrists. Omega can be proud of this history; and to celebrate the 45th anniversary of Apollo 11, they introduced a new limited edition of the Speedmaster Professional.?Today’s?photos, made by our friends at?SpeedyWatches, makes a perfect way to celebrate this monumental milestone in men’s history.?Today, July 20th 2014, marks the 45th anniversary of?the iconic lunar landing where famous astronauts Neil Armstrong,?Buzz Aldrin and Michael Collins took humankind's first steps on the moon. First Look: The Even More Complex MB&F LM Sequential Flyback
The aphorism “if it ain't broke, don't fix it” is not often used by watchmaker Stephen McDonnell, the mastermind behind MB&F's most complex timepieces enhanced with his innovative technological breakthroughs. Responsible for the 2015 LM Perpetual and the LM Sequential EVO, fans of MB&F's wonderful watches will be delighted to learn that Stephen McDonnell is back. This time, McDonnell ups the functionality of his award-winning chronograph calibre by incorporating a flyback function. However, for this new souped-up edition of 33 pieces, MB&F restages the complications in a more classical Legacy Machine capsule. Soaring in a platinum case with a sky-blue dial plate, the LM Sequential Flyback is the stuff watchmaking dreams are made of.The LM Sequential EVO, released in 2022, was MB&F's first chronograph and 20th calibre, and in true MB&F style, it had to be mind-blowing. Calling on a longstanding MB&F friend and watchmaking wizard, Stephen McDonnell, th
