Hands-On Audemars Piguet Royal Oak Offshore Chronograph 26238ST
The Beast… This is the name watch enthusiasts gave to the Royal Oak Offshore when it was presented in 1993. If the classic Royal Oak of 1972 was already disruptive, the ROO was a shock, a true rupture, something unprecedented and provocative. But almost 30 years after its presentation, the Royal Oak Offshore has proven to be a finely tuned recipe and has since been derived in a multitude of versions. However, nothing can beat the iconic status of the original. We’ve seen a re-edition of this very watch in 2018 and, this year, Audemars Piguet brings a new version of its Royal Oak Offshore Chronograph that again pays tribute to the early years of the ROO. Also available in titanium and gold, we now take a closer look at the all-time classic steel-and-blue version of this 26238ST, which comes with noteworthy improvements, and isn’t limited anymore. The 1993 Royal Oak OffshoreAs always with watches paying tribute to a past model, a historical brief is necessary. Hands-on The New Seiko Prospex SRP series - ref. SRP773K1, SRP775K1, SRP777K1 & SRP779K1 (live photos, specs & price) - Monochrome Watches
A friend of mine who is an underwater photographer, fisherman, diver, and a watch lover once tried to explain me why he loves dive-watches. Surprisingly, he referred only very briefly to the heavyweights ( , Omega, etc.) and instead he focused mainly on Seiko. He told me that you must be nuts or very rich in order to dive for a specific job (hunt fish for instance) wearing your expensive dive watch; because 9 out of 10 times you gonna scratch it at the very the least if not more. For the friend of mine, if you have a strong and professional link with the sea, you have to?wear a cheap (relatively speaking) but highly reliable, rugged, professional-oriented?dive-watch. That's the essence of a diving watch for him and in this specific?market, Seiko almost dominates the competition. And as the successor of?the iconic Seiko SKX007, the new Seiko Prospex SRP series has to be seriously considered. Overview.A Blast From The PastThis is widely known:?retro/vintage-inspiration sells and sells we
Introducing the Frederique Constant Classic Manufacture Moonphase (specs & price) - Monochrome-Watches
When it comes to buy a serious dress watch, what will be your expectations? Whatever the money?you’re ready to spend into this so-desired watch, you’ll probably want it to look classy, to have an interesting movement, to be featured with some complications and to be naturally elegant. Having a manufacture movement would of course be a welcomed extra… Which often means that this watch you’re looking for will cost you A LOT.?Frederique Constant?might however be a refreshing alternative, especially with their latest offer. Introducing: Montblanc 1858 The Unveiled Secret Minerva Monopusher
Two years ago, Montblanc presented a chronograph with an inverted Minerva movement to showcase the fascinating mechanics of this historic calibre on the dial. In a departure from the solid vintage pilot looks of the Minerva Monopusher Red Arrow that was unveiled simultaneously, the two limited editions of The Unveiled Secret Minerva Monopusher Chronograph were openworked iterations displaying Minerva’s famous MB16.29 calibre on the dial for the first time. For Watches & Wonders 2023, Montblanc releases a third version of its Minerva monopusher chronograph in a more contemporary distressed steel case. The distressed steel finish of the 43mm diameter x 14.8mm case is a three-fold process. First, the case is given a black coating and then washed and brushed by hand using quartzite to produce an individual patina before finally being brushed and polished. As a nod to Minerva’s first fluted bezel of 1927, the latest iteration comes with a white gold fluted bezel. A
TAG Heuer Carrera Heuer-01 43 mm Skeleton - Pre-Baselworld 2017
Since its inception in 2015, the?TAG Heuer Carrera Heuer-01 has quickly become the emblematic model of the brand, being also one of its best-sellers – which is surprising, first because of the look, rather in opposition with the previous creations, and because of its price positioning, as being one of the upper-range watches. While in 2016 it has seen an evolution with a 43mm case, the skeletonized dial was still the privilege of the larger 45mm edition… until Baselworld 2017, as we’ll now have the?TAG Heuer Carrera Heuer-01 43 mm, in Skeleton Version, with 3 different colors (intense black, navy blue and and cognac brown). The?Carrera Heuer-01 has been a success for TAG Heuer, as being the redefining watch: bolder, larger, more contemporary designed, more horological too (with an open-worked in-house chronograph) and exploring new territories in terms of look and personalization, thus targeting new groups of collectors. Still, the basics of the brand were there; the C
