Bulgari Octo Finissimo Automatic Satin-Polished // Introducing
No watch enthusiast can overlook Bvlgari’s hegemony of the ultra-thin category. The formula is simple: 5 stunning watches, 5 world records, 1 great design. Not only is the Octo Finissimo a demonstration of mechanical savoir-faire but it is also a treaty of modern design. Until now, the “simplest” of the watches in this collection, the Automatic model, has been available in titanium, stainless steel and rose gold, all with a sandblasted finish. Now, the brand adds a luxurious touch with the new Bvlgari Octo Finissimo Automatic Satin-Polished Collection. With these new models in the ever-growing (and always surprising) Octo Finissimo collection, don’t expect multiple design or mechanical changes. The ingredients are still the same: the same angular case; the same ultra-flat luxury sports watch concept; the same paper-thin automatic movement; and the same bracelet/strap. Whereas most brands introduce new dial colours to spruce up an existing? model, Bvlgari refreshe

As suggested by one of our readers, we are now looking at sporty-chic watches on stainless steel bracelets priced under EUR 3,000. After doing some digging, we’ve come up with genuinely surprising watches! Let’s dive straight in.Nomos Club Sport Neomatik 39The Nomos Club has long been a success for the Glashutte-based brand for its humble simplicity. But that doesn’t mean it’s a boring one-trick pony, as Nomos has proven the basic design to be quite versatile. The Club Sport Neomatik, for instance, takes the concept in a new direction by adding new sizes, fresh colours and a steel bracelet. Last year, we saw the introduction of a trio of new colours in a new 39mm size. It’s fitted with the in-house produced automatic DUW 3001 Neomatik movement and retails for EUR 2,820
Hands-On: The TAG Heuer Monaco Chonograph Night Driver
As a cornerstone of TAG Heuer‘s identity since 1969, the square-shaped Monaco chronograph is fuelled by associations with the race track. Named after the most glamorous of F1 races, the Monaco soared to fame in 1971 after its cameo in Le Mans on Steve McQueen’s wrist. Following a hiatus in the mid-1970s, the Monaco was reintroduced in the late 1990s and continues to evolve. Accustomed to the more colourful livery of earlier editions, the latest Monaco to roar out of the paddocks is a more toned-down, monochromatic version with a glowing night-time personality known as the Monaco Chronograph Night Driver.Short BackgroundHeuer was one of the three competitors in the race to develop the first automatic chronograph movement. Partnering with Breitling, Hamilton-Buren and Dubois-Depraz, the team produced the Chronomatic calibre 11. Unveiled in 1969, along with Zenith’s El Primero and Seiko’s 6139 automatic chronograph movements, Zentih’s movement was the first t
