Handwerkskunst according to A. Lange & Sohne - Interview with CEO Wilhelm Schmid - Monochrome Watches
The other day I had the distinct pleasure of spending a few days with A. Lange & Sohne in Florence, Italy. The main purpose was the launch of the Lange 1815 Rattrapante Perpetual Calendar Handwerkskunst and four new blue dial version (Lange 1, Lange 1 Daymatic, Saxonia and Saxonia handwound), all of which we already showed you last weekend. The team at Lange organized several field trips' to various handcrafts, like lithography, fabric weaving and printing, among others, and we visited one of the most prestigious winemakers from Tuscany (the region in which Florence is located.) Wilhelm Schmid, the brand's CEO, tells us more about Handwerkskunst and handcrafts, plus I'll share wrist shots of a group of Lange collectors whom I accidentally ran into. Be warned LOTS of photos! Like all its predecessors the new Handwerkskunst represents an exuberant variation on an existing model (the 1815 Rattrapante Perpetual Calendar in this case) and is actually not the discrete style that we know
Hands On With The L.U.C Time Traveler One, Chopards First Worldtimer - Monochrome Watches
This week in London, auction house Philips played host to a special exhibition commemorating the 20th Anniversary of the creation of Chopard's first in-house movement; the calibre L.U.C 1.96. It was also the perfect setting for the introduction of two new series into Chopard's L.U.C family; the L.U.C GMT One and the L.U.C Time Traveler One. Today we're taking a closer look at the latter. For as long as I can remember I've loved travelling. Experiencing new places, meeting new people, trying new foods, I can't get enough of it. So I try and travel as often as I can. I'm no member of the jet-set mind you but I get around. There's just something about waking up in a different time zone that gets my motor running.?Fortunately these days travelling is a lot easier than it used to be, although my recent experience at Santorini airport might suggest otherwise but I digress. Just about the last thing most people worry about is getting on the right time-zone when you arrive at your destination.

Yummie....I’m looking for the ultimate vacation watch and for the first time i find it hard, nearly impossible, to find what i’m looking for.Of course i’m not looking for a watch with a battery! I like diving in warm and tropical waters, which are not to be found anywhere near the place where i live. This means my vacations are at least in a different timezone, mostly at the other s

The New Ulysse Nardin Marine Torpilleur Moonphase Aventurine And Diver Starry Night
Long before revolutionizing watchmaking with silicium technology and introducing the Freak in 2001, Ulysse Nardin had earned acclaim for its precision marine chronometers. This expertise not only defined Ulysse Nardin’s legacy but also significantly influenced the design philosophy of the brand’s contemporary models. In 2017, Ulysse Nardin launched the Marine Torpilleur, a collection providing a more accessible alternative to its well-established Marine series. Fast forward to 2021, and the Marine Torpilleur series underwent a comprehensive revitalization, introducing new models, including an attractive moon phase watch. This is now further expanded with 300-piece limited edition featuring a midnight blue Aventurine dial. Known as the Diver Starry Night, it follows suit to the Marine Torpilleur Moonphase Aventurine, with the addition of diamond hour indices.Ulysse Na
