A. Lange & Sohne Grand Lange 1 Update 2022 Thinner Case
Looking at the entire lineage of watches created by A. Lange & Sohne, no other model can beat the Lange 1 in terms of cult status. This watch, which was part of the inaugural collection of watches launched in 1994, is now seen as one of the most iconic watches of our times and an fundamental model for the renaissance of high-end German watchmaking. In 2003, surfing on the vibe for oversized watches, A. Lange & Sohne released the Grand Lange 1. In 2012, the watch was drastically revised with a newly designed case and its own movement. And for 2022, the third generation of A. Lange & Sohne Grand Lange 1 will be released, with an even thinner case, new dials and design tweaks all around.?When first released in 2003, the Grosse Lange 1 or Grand Lange 1 was basically an enlarged version of the classic Lange 1, equipped with the same movement but housed in a 41.9mm x 11mm case. As such, the display was not ideal, with overlapping sub-dials, due to the smaller-sized calibre L901.2
Hands-On - IWC Pilot's Watch Chronograph Edition "150 Years" IW377725 (Specs & Price)
IWC celebrates its 150th anniversary with a generous line-up of 27 limited editions of the brand's icons – including this popular Pilot's Watch Chronograph, also known as the ?“FliegerChronograph“. The Omega 125th Anniversary Pocket Watch - Review, Price
If the project had been announced a couple of years ago, we had not got the chance to go hands-on with the commemorative pocket watch released to celebrate the 125th anniversary of the Omega name. On the occasion of the visit to the Omega headquarters in Biel, we were finally able to take to a look at this fascinating timepiece. And this was well worth the wait, in particular in view of the work performed in the reconstruction of the famous 19-ligne calibre powering the watch, partially using original partsFrom the Omega Museum – An Omega/Louis Brandt et Frere Pocket Watch fitted with 19-ligne calibre – here in DDR execution, one of the highest and most coveted grades produced for this legendary movement (together with VeryBest)BackgroundIf the roots of Omega go as far back as 1848, when Louis Brandt set up an etablissage assembling watches in La Chaux-de-Fonds, the Omega name goes back to 1894 and the presentation of the Omega 19-ligne calibre (a ligne is an ancient French
IWC Re-Engineers Ingenieur for 2013! - Monochrome Watches
Progress can be an unsentimental and unforgiving thing. Sometimes we must move on and forsake the past in anticipation of the future. Fortunately for IWC and their Ingenieur line - the past is not such a bad thing!? Instead of obliterating it IWC have chosen to evolutionize it!To hardcore watch fans, few names elicit a primal response like the IWC Ingenieur. Drawing back to the middle of the last century - the Ingeniuer was IWC's show piece. With it's Albert Pellaton designed bidirectional movement, IWC was able to enter the vanguard of sports watchmakers circa 1955. Over the past 58 years the line of watches and it's movement have been steadily refined and improved. For 2013 IWC have just taken the wraps off of a freshly redesigned Ingeniuer line-up; the new pieces look just that - new, but the family lineage going back the fabled Ref. 1832, penned by one of the most important and influential watch designers of all time - Gerald Genta. This week, on the Collector's Series, we discover what it's like to own a watch that, when released, was the first wristwatch to have all five hands all mounted on the same central axis. This unusual watch is called the Concentrique Grand Complication 5 and is the work of one of the greatest British watchmakers, Peter Roberts. Fitted with a superbly finished Valjoux 88?as a base, it boasts many complications, something that its owner, David from Garrick Watches, knows how to appreciate. And as usual, there is a story behind a watch, and here is David's.Peter Roberts is one of the great veterans of British Watchmaking.
