This 5170J-001 watch is from the Complications collection of Patek Phillipe. The case of this watch is round and made up of 18K yellow gold. The dial of the watch is in opaline white color and features roman numerals and hour markers shaped in gold-tone pencil style. The dial form of the watch is analog with an automatic movement that gives a 65-hour power reserve. The top glass of this watch is scratch-free because of sapphire crystal construction. The case back of the watch is see-through. It is also resistant to water up to the depth of 100ft. The strap is made with brown cow leather with a fast opening clasp.

Laurent Ferrier Galet Classic Tourbillon Double Spiral - Reviewing an Understated Masterpiece (Photos, Specs and Price) - Monochrome-Watches
We’ve been reviewing what is arguably the most understated wrist watch. We’re used to explaining high prices to people when they spot something extravagant on our wrist. In this case it was more difficult to explain, until the watch was?turned over to?show?that stunning?movement, featuring a tourbillon with double spiral. While the average watch-person (is that a word?) hardly understands what a tourbillon is, or does, try explaining a tourbillon with two spirals, and that’s exactly what we’re going to do. However the Laurent Ferrier Galet Classic Tourbillon Double Spiral holds so much more to?justifiy its price. Ultimate refinement, the epitome of a dress watch, and understated to the max.?My wrist has had the pleasure of wearing… err… testing the most phenomenal timepieces of modern times. Whether it be the outgoing Roger Dubuis Pulsion Skeleton Flying Tourbillon, the quirky Hautlence HL Ti, or the mighty Lange & Sohne Double Split, the classy
The Limited Edition UK x Kudoke 2 - British Heritage
Move over big-name watch brands, indie watchmakers are the new idols on the scene. Attracting more and more interest by the hour, indies have caught the eye of collectors' groups which are engaging with talented watchmakers to create unique pieces or limited editions for their members. The idea of owning something only a few individuals will be able to enjoy works perfectly with the limited production capacity of indie watchmakers. The latest collaboration, promoted by the British online luxury watch platform known as The Limited Edition UK, involves German watchmaker Stefan Kudoke. One of the most exciting talents on the scene, Kudoke honours the spirit of the 18th-century watchmaking master Thomas Mudge with hand-engraved flourishes on his Kudoke 2 timepiece. Limited to 30 pieces, the Kudoke 2 – British Heritage forges a bridge between British masters and Saxon watchmaking.Stefan Kudoke, whom we featured in our article the Coolest Non-Swiss Indie Watchmakers, was born in Frankf
VIntage Corner - How To Collect Vintage Omegas, A Talk with Petros Protopapas
The appetite for vintage timepieces has grown at a rapid pace over the past few years. Collecting vintage watches can be a fantastic hobby but there are pitfalls to avoid. The pre-owned and vintage watch market is a jungle. The quality and authenticity of what you are buying are key. Many watches have endured quite some action over their lifetime and there are also many scams. The integrity of timepieces needs to be maintained over time. Take good care of your watches and make sure these are serviced the right way. Replacement parts need to be original.?This is what we’ll talk about today with Omega’s Head of Brand Heritage.“The Omega certificate of authenticity?aims at bringing confidence to collectors”To help people navigate the vintage market, several brands supply extracts from their archives. These archives provide production details and the period of production of a watch without having to send it to the brand. To enhance transparency in the pre-owned mark
Panerai Luminor Marina Luminous Trilogy PAM1117, PAM1118 & PAM1119
In a recent interview with MONOCHROME, Panerai's CEO, Jean-Marc Pontroue, gave us a foretaste of what to expect in 2020. The main theme for the brand would be the 70th anniversary of Luminor. To celebrate this anniversary, the Italian brand releases three boutique-exclusive limited edition watches, which make an impact with their potent visibility in the dark: meet the PAM1117, PAM1118 & PAM1119.The Luminor trademark was registered some 70 years ago by Panerai. Luminor was the name chosen by the brand to describe the tritium-based luminous compound applied to the brands’ dials (to replace Radium as it is significantly less radioactive). Over time the word Luminor would come to describe the iconic cushion-shaped case of the dive watch. Although radioactive substances are no longer used on their watches, Panerai releases three new Luminor references that pay tribute to the original luminescence by glowing in the most unusual places. Girard-Perregaux 1966 Jewellery - elegant bling-bling - Monochrome Watches
Because we were talking about watches heavily set with diamonds anyway, why not proceed with more stone-set watches. Luckily Girard-Perregaux knows how to do this in an elegant way. They just released the 1966 Jewellery set with more than 800 diamonds. The Girard-Perregaux 1966 Collection, launched in 2006, has been my favorite GP collection and comprises several magnificent timepieces like the 1966 Annual Calendar and Equation of Time and the 1966 Full Calendar. This collection always features beautiful manufacture movements with automatic winding in ultra-thin cases. However it looks still very elegant, something to which the s
