Designing Time with Creativity and Haute Horlogery: Part 1 - 4N - Monochrome Watches
In the small world of independent watchmaking, competition is tough. Not only do you have to compete with big names, such as Richard Mille, Greubel Forsey or MB&F, you also have to offer “that little something extra” that makes your creation extraordinary. Innovation in this realm of specialists can be found in a profusion of complications or in a strong design, like a new way to display time. In a two-part story we’re going to introduce two amazing timepieces from two brilliant and innovative watch brands: 4N and Cabastan. Today, in part 1, we’ll start with 4N.When you think about reading the time, you will almost certainly imagine a round circle with three hands running on it - or four black numbers on a green screen if you lean digital and are still stuck in the 80's. Of course some complications in Haute Horlogery - and even in common Horlogery – have been created to offer some new ways to read time: jumping hours displayed in a window, retrograde
Introcuding - The 2021 Editions of The Patek Philippe Twenty~4 Automatic
Patek Philippe introduces two new automatic models in its recently revamped Twenty~4 women's collection. In 2018, Patek Philippe overhauled its Twenty~4 collection from head to toe. Introducing 36mm round cases to sit alongside its rectangular-shaped siblings, the feature that thrilled many of us was the inclusion of a mechanical movement. More in line with Patek's tradition of exquisitely crafted watches inside and out, the long-overdue upgrade from quartz to mechanical was finally addressed in the Twenty~4 family with the incorporation of Patek's 324 S C movement. Patek's proposal of an everyday watch for women, the new arrivals are a steel model with a green dial and a rose gold model with a matching gilded sunburst dial, both with a double row of diamonds on the bezel. From complications to ready-to-wearIt would be wrong to assume that?Patek Philippe?is?Switzerland's finest producer of men's watches: it has been and still is Switzerland's finest producer of both men's?and women's wa
Hands-on: The New Maurice Lacroix Pontos S Diver Is Dressed To Impress
In traditional connotation, the dress watch is what you wear to an evening event, supposedly dressed to fit the occasion, in a suit or even a tuxedo. But what if your evening is about going out to bars, restaurants, and seaside clubs, where short sleeves and sandals are more welcome? You put on a watch that fits right in, a dress diver if you will, and the new editions of the Maurice Lacroix Pontos S Diver should be one of the few stylish choices to consider.Maurice Lacroix launched the Pontos S Diver series in 2013, the company recently revealed a new 2023 model which we introduced to you a couple of weeks ago. Vacheron Constantin Overseas Steel and Titanium - Monochrome Watches
The Vacheron Constantin Overseas is one of the watches that I’ve liked since I first saw it. So a post about this watch has been long overdue. Recently I visted Brussels for a nice weekend and I just happened to walk by a Vacheron Constantin dealer. In the window they had the Overseas Chronograph Steel & Titanium on display, a model that I hadn’t seen or touched so I went in to have a look. Not sure if that was a smart move, because it’s an absolute gorgeous watch and it moved up in the wishlist with lightning speed. The first models of the Overseas Steel & Titanium collection?where launched in the summer of 2009. These where the?Overseas Automatic and the Overseas Automatic Chronograph.
