New IWC Ingenieur Collection - Pre-SIHH 2013 - Monochrome Watches
While it’s more then 1,5 month to go to the SIHH 2013, new models are being released almost daily. And so does IWC… however they don’t simply introduce a new model, no, they complete revamp an entire collection, like they did last year with the Pilot’s Collection. This year it’s the Ingenieur Collection and the best news is the (re-)introduction of the new Ingenieur Automatic. A self-winding, 40 mm stainless steel homage to the original Ingenieur designed by Gerald Genta in 1977. Not only does it have killer looks, it also herald a return to the true functional integrity of the Ingenieur; being able to withstand magnetic fields up to 40,000 A/m. 2020 Bvlgari Rainbow and Colour Wave Serpenti Watches
Hands down, the luxurious Serpenti watch has to be Bvlgari's most iconic timepiece to date. Inspired by Greek and Roman mythology and interpreting the stealth-like snake, the Serpenti watch collection has served as a cornerstone in the Roman brand's heritage. It underscored the brand's transition from lavish and highly detailed jewellery pieces to the addition of wristwatches for style-conscious women during the mid-1900s. Now, Bvlgari evolves the collection further with some vibrant and vivid iterations – the Bvlgari Serpenti Viper and the Bvlgari Serpenti Incantati. Having become internationally renowned for mastering the art of gemstone cutting and setting, these new interpretations are far from Bvlgari's first gem-set watches. The Serpenti watch collection already boasts a rich tapestry of indulgent and sumptuous timepieces adorned with coloured gemstones. The new Rainbow and Colour Wave timepieces are a nod to Bvlgari's “Mai Troppo” approach to watchmaking –
Eric Claptons Patek Philippe 5975R Chronograph 175th Anniversary For Sale - Monochrome Watches
While browsing on Instagram the other day, I noticed a post from the popular watch account @Patekaholic about a particular Patek Philippe posted through the portal website 1stdibs, which showcases various luxury items for sale to be posted to a wider audience. After clicking through to the website of the seller – Xupes – about the watch in question, the previous owner of the timepiece stood out immediately. It belonged to guitar legend and seasoned watch collector, Eric Clapton.Clapton is known to love timepieces, particularly and Patek Philippe. He even mentioned his love of Patek Philippe watches in his autobiography. He previously owned the only platinum Patek Philippe 2499 in private hands (the other example is in the Patek Philippe Museum), which sold at auction for US$3.6 million, a very rare Yacht-Master prototype based on a Daytona and a 6263 Daytona nicknamed “The Albino” due to its monochromatic white dial. Baselworld 2015 - Omega Speedmaster 57 Co-Axial revisited with Broad Arrow Hands and new dial - Specs & Price - Monochrome-Watches
The Omega Speedmaster is an icon among the icons. First introduced in 1957 under the reference CK2915, it had been updated several times in its life to now have a slightly different case and dial. However, back in 2013, Omega decided to introduce a re-issue of the very first Speedy, an upgraded edition that was keeping the overall same look with a modern twist and innovative movement. This nice watch was unfortunately not as faithful to the orignal as?the collectors wanted to. This is now corrected, with the?Omega Speedmaster 57 Co-Axial revisited with Broad Arrow Hands and a new dial (ref.?331.10.42.51.01.002).The 2013 Omega Speedmaster 57 was using the same recipe as?the Omega Seamaster 300 Master Co-Axial introduced last year, meaning a vintage inspired watch but not a simple reedition. Instead of just recreating the exact same watch, Omega chose to modernize the design – but still using some vintage gimmicks – and to bring into the case a modern, efficient and reliable
The cool Code41 Mecascape Sublimation One
Normally we can classify something as a wristwatch, a pocket watch or a clock, but in some instances, an object can transcend these labels and morph into something complex. Just think of? Bovet’s convertible Amadeo watches?or the recently introduced Omega Chrono Chime 1932. Swiss independent watchmakers Code41, a community-based brand founded in 2016, is looking to add an entirely new class of timing devices to the mix with its Mecascape Sublimation One. This creation is not born for the wrist but is a merger between a pocket watch and a desk clock in one. And it looks incredibly cool!Code41 was founded by Claudio D’Amore, who had worked hard to realise his watchmaking ideas by involving the public in everything he does. We’ve seen this approach before from Tom van Wijlick and his Lebois & Co / Airain revival, for instance, and it has also been very successful for Code41. The most significant benefit is the fact you create a product with input from potential custo
