Introducing the World's Thinnest Tourbillon: the Bulgari Octo Finissimo Tourbillon - Monochrome Watches
Bulgari sets a new record for the world’s thinnest tourbillon. Both for the thinnest tourbillon movement and for tourbillon watch. Bulgari not simply breaks the previous record by a few percent, no, the previous record is simply CRUSHED by what Bulgari accomplished with the new Octo Finissimo Tourbillon. The spectacular ultra-thin tourbillon movement, measures just 1.95 mm, while the entire watch is just 5.00 mm in height. Bulgari, much like Cartier, has always been a maker of high-end jewelry, also called Haute Joaillerie. Bulgari also made timepieces, nice timepieces, however nothing spectacular for the average watch enthusiast. When Bulgari re-labeled the sub-brands Daniel Roth and Gerald Genta (which they bought many years ago from the name-givers) and only put the Bulgari name on the dial, we knew they wanted to be recognized as one of the serious players in the field of Haute Horlogerie. They had the knowledge, skills, and expertise. And with the introduction of the world
Video - New Bvlgari Octo Roma Watches & Gerald Genta Mickey Mouse
Last week were the Geneva Watch Days 2021, a great initiative that allowed us to visit brands exposing to this self-managed and (yes, something rare these days), physically-organised event. While most of the MONOCHROME team was attending the event, reporting live with multiple articles displaying the new models presented during the fair, it also gave us the opportunity to meet with brands and their representatives. Among them was, of course, Bvlgari (the initiator of the GWD) that was presenting multiple new models, including new Octo Roma watches and, best of all, the ultra-cool Gerald Genta Mickey Mouse. In this video interview, we’ll talk to Antoine Pin, Managing Director of the Bvlgari Watch Division, who will guide us through the 2021 collection.?The Bvlgari Watch Division must have had quite a prolific product meeting before Geneva Watch Days 2021, seeing all the new models that were introduced during this event. The focus of the year clearly is travelling, with two new, an
Retrospective - The Entire Omega Seamaster x James Bond 007 History - Monochrome Watches
Neither of them need an introduction. On one side is the most famous special agent in the world. On the other side is one of the most respected Swiss watch brands. And their collaboration is as explosive as the movies. While in most films, watches only make?short screen appearances, with James Bond 007, this accessory has gained a totally different status, becoming a character on its own. Here is an exhaustive retrospective of all Omega watches used in James Bond movies, from 1995 Goldeneye to 2015 Spectre. The Omega X Bond collaboration started with the actual revival of the series, as for quite a number of?years, the 007 franchise languished?in the shadows. However, back in 1995, some fresh air was given to the 007 concept, bringing back elegance – in the name of Pierce Brosnan – as well as action, perfectly controlled humor and up-to-date stories – everything that made 007 famous and loved. Vacheron Constantin Patrimony Moon Phase Retrograde Date Excellence Platine
Presented in 2017, the Patrimony Moon Phase Retrograde Date is, undeniably, one of the most elegant and balanced watches in Vacheron Constantin‘s slightly modern collection – the more classic watches are grouped under the Traditionnelle collection. Mainly characterised by its display combining a retrograde date and a moon indicator, this watch, previously available in pink or white gold, now joins Vacheron’s full-platinum family. Let’s look at the new Vacheron Constantin Patrimony Moon Phase Retrograde Date Collection Excellence Platine. The concept behind the Collection Excellence Platine is pretty simple yet exceptionally executed. Take one of VC’s classic watches and make it the most high-end possible, visually monochromatic but also very sleek. As indicated by its name, this collection is all about platinum, which can be found on the case (obviously) but also on the dial and the thread used for the strap – which is always blue, the best match with
