First Look: The New Bulgari Divas Dream Peacock Marquetry Collection
For Dubai Watch Week, Bulgari presents five captivating models inspired by the rich plumage and iridescent colours of peacocks’ tails. While the hypnotic Serpenti is Bulgari’s most famous mascot, the proud, unabashedly beautiful peacock has been the mascot of choice for the Divas’ Dream collection since 2017. Using different materials – including feathers, mother-of-pearl and precious stones – the magnificent colours and textures of the peacock’s plumage are recreated on the dials of these watches with the delicate art of marquetry.Capturing the voluptuous curves of Italian Dolce Vita screen divas, the Divas’ Dream collection stands out with its sensual, curvy silhouette and fan-shaped motifs referencing patterns found in the mosaics of Rome’s ancient Caracalla Baths. Divas’ Dream is a highly versatile canvas for high jewellery models dripping with precious gemstones or, conversely, a glamorous receptacle for the world’s thinn
Patek Philippe 5370P Split-Seconds Chronograph, Now in Blue Enamel - Monochrome Watches
Patek and the chronograph complication is a long-lasting love story. The brand has been manufacturing stopwatches almost since its inception… And when it comes to chronographs, there’s one type that rules them all, the Split-Seconds or rattrapante, the King of chrono watches. This a complication that Patek masters since 1923 – surprisingly first built in a women’s watch. The current collection comprises multiple ‘splits’, one of them being seen as a collector’s grail, the Patek Philippe 5370P Split-Seconds Chronograph; which makes its comeback in 2020 with this new blue enamel version.BackgroundThe 5370P was introduced at Baselworld 2015 and was an immediate success – it is, according to many, including us here at MONOCHROME, one of the most beautiful Patek watches currently produced. The reason lies in multiple things; the execution, the movement and, let’s be honest, the design. The 5370P is greatly inspired by?1940s to 1960s spli

Introducing: The Sleeker yet Colourful Oris Big Crown Pointer Date 40mm
Alongside the green and terracotta Big Crown Pointer Date Calibre 403 housed in a 40mm case with a sleek, polished bezel instead of the classic coin-edge design, Oris also introduces a trio of new, simpler versions of its emblematic watch. And while these lack the high-performance Calibre 403 movement and replace it with a Sellita engine, these Oris Big Crown Pointer Date models make up for it with vibrant dial colours and new bracelets at a more accessible price point. Like the Calibre 403 variant, the new Oris Big Crown Pointer Date watches feature a 40mm stainless steel case with a 47.5mm lug-to-lug measurement and 50m water resistance. The case is 12mm thick, with an oversized screw-in crown and a double-domed sapphire crystal with AR coating to protect the dial. Around the back, a screwed-down display caseback – this time with mineral glass instead of sapphire – reveals the movement within. Importantly, the signature fluted bezel of most models i
