Pre-Panerai Radiomir 1940 3 Days Automatic Acciaio PAM00655 (specs & price) - Monochrome Watches
What to say about Panerai if it’s not to talk about its eternal, timeless design that has been the hallmark of the manufacture since its proper commercial introduction in 1997 (the Vend?me-era). A Panerai is a Panerai and will always be recognized as such. Of course there are several collections, the most famous ones being the Radiomir and the Luminor. In-between these two sits the Panerai Radiomir 1940, that mixes vintage feelings with more modern clues. The Petrolhead Corner - Rob Dickinson of Singer Vehicle Design, The Most Amazing Restomod Porsche 911s
Today we're talking with Rob Dickinson, founder and creative director of Singer Vehicle Design and co-founder for watch brand Singer Reimagined. When we were preparing to film a video interview with Rob, some two years ago, I knew about the Singer Reimagined Track 1, that super cool chronograph featuring Jean-Marc Wiederecht's innovative chronograph calibre. But that was it, so I “Googled” him and found out that Rob used to be the lead singer and guitar player of a band that I listened to a lot. I still vividly remember a concert of his band, Catherine Wheel, back in 1990 or 1991, when they played together with the Smashing Pumpkins and support act, The Verve. So, shortly before filming that video interview about Singer Reimagined, we talked music and days gone by.?Later we also talked cars, of course! I'm a watch guy, but I'm also a car guy. Like watches, I prefer cars with mechanical content, a petrol engine and not too many batteries. And that's exactly what Rob and his
The TAG Heuer Carrera x Porsche RS 2.7 (Specs & Price)
If there is one name that could best define the connection between cars and watches, it has to be Carrera. Indeed, the name has long been associated with two of the most prominent names of both the car and the watch industry. On one side is the legendary car of Porsche, the 911 Carrera. On the other is the cult watch of TAG Heuer, the Carrera Chronograph. And the two pay tribute to an emblematic race of the 1950s, the Carrera Panamericana. There’s hardly a more natural connection than this, and it was first sealed in 2021, with a partnership between TAG Heuer and Porsche, resulting in the Carrera Porsche Edition. Both brands now come back with a watch that evokes the 1970s and celebrates the 50th anniversary of the car that has made the 911 a true racer… Meet the TAG Heuer Carrera x Porsche RS 2.7.A Carrera story…Both Jack Heuer and Ferry Porsche were fascinated by La Carrera Panamericana. A far-away endurance race staged in Mexico, it would end up inspiring the name
