A. Lange & Sohne Lange 1 Perpetual Calendar Limited Edition Salmon
There are many watches that we’ve named ‘iconic’ or ’emblematic’ over the years, but few modern timepieces can rival the status of the Lange 1 when it comes to high-end, elegant and finely manufactured watches. A watch that has defined the brand since its resurrection in 1994 – thanks to the joint work of Walter Lange and Gunter Blumlein – and that has been made in dozens of variations over the years, it has surprisingly never been made in a perpetual calendar-only edition… until recently. Surely, there has been a tourbillon QP, but it took the Saxon brand 27 years to propose what is a classic of haute horlogerie. And the result is, without a doubt, very convincing, as we’re about to see with the stunning Lange 1 Perpetual Calendar Limited Edition in white gold with “salmon” pink gold dial… Yes, we love this combination at MONOCHROME!The Lange 1…This watch, with its unusually offset yet elegant display based
The A. Lange & Sohne Grand Complication marks the Beginning of a New Era for the Brand - Monochrome Watches
A Grand Complication is, exactly as the name indicates, a GRAND complication. Not many brands can say that they have a Grand Complication in the collection and when counting there are really just a few of the oldest and most admirable watch brands that do. Of course there are the three ‘Grande Dames’ of the Haute Horlogerie, Patek Philippe, Vacheron Constantin and Audemars Piguet. Also brands like Blancpain, Breguet, IWC and Jaeger-LeCoultre are among the few who have at least one Grand Complication in the collection. Since this year, A. Lange & Sohne introduced their first Grand Complication that is also the most complicated German watch ever created. IWC Portugieser Chronograph In-House Movement IW3716 // Specs, Price
For many fans of the IWC Portugieser Chronograph, today's news is big news: not only is this iconic chronograph now equipped with an in-house calibre, you can finally see the movement through the transparent caseback. To be precise, this is not the first time this manufacture movement has appeared inside a Portugieser Chronograph. In 2018, calibre 69335 was used on board the special 150th-anniversary editions and revealed through a sapphire caseback. However, it was a limited edition and not intended for serial production. The other good news is that the design of the watch has not changed an iota. It is the same, well-loved Portugieser Chronograph, only now known as ref. IW3716. Six references join the legendary family in stainless steel and rose gold cases with a choice of dial colours – which are the same as before!Short history of the PortugieserAs many of you know, the Portugieser is one of the oldest collections at IWC. This particular watch was created at the behest of two
TAG Heuer Carrera 160 Years Montreal Limited Edition (Live Pics & Price)
Earlier this year, we mentioned that 2020 will be the year of the Carrera for TAG Heuer, along with the celebration of the brand’s 160th anniversary. Kickstarting the Carrera line-up was the very attractive, vintage-inspired and minimalistic Carrera 160 Years Silver Limited Edition, a winning combination of old-school look and modern mechanics. Following this edition, the brand is now releasing a second model, with the same base but multiple dial evolutions, some poached from another Heuer icon, the Montreal. Here’s the TAG Heuer Carrera 160 Years Montreal Limited Edition, which we were able to shoot right before its official launch.BackgroundThe Carrera Silver Edition was a faithful reissue of the earliest of the Carrera watches, the 1963 Ref. 2447 and its simple, almost utilitarian look that was all about legibility of the chronograph indications. Jack Heuer was a fan of modern, clean design and this showed in the early Carrera watches. But we can’t reduce HeuerR
Spotted - David Beckham and His Unique Tudor Pelagos "Inter Miami"
There’s nothing unusual in seeing a brand ambassador wearing one of his sponsor’s timepieces. Pretty normal. Seeing them posting a close-up photo of a watch on Instagram is already something less common. But what we’ve spotted yesterday is even less “classic style”. While it’s no surprise to see David Beckham sporting a Tudor watch, the model he posted recently on his own Instagram account is far more interesting. Unique Tudor Pelagos? Yes, please!Former footballer David Beckham, who played for Manchester United, Real Madrid and LA Galaxy is now a fully-fledged owner of a Major League Soccer (MLS) franchise in the United States. As part of his contract for signing with LA Galaxy in 2007, Beckham had a clause inserted, allowing him to purchase an MLS Expansion franchise team for US$ 25 million.?Beckham exercised the option in back in 2014, with a group of partners. After years of planning, the MLS approved the team to play in the 2020 season. On 5 Sep
