First Look: The IWC Ingenieur Automatic 40 Green

The watch we're introducing today comes with a fun story involving actor Brad Pitt and the upcoming movie F1. What was initially a prop watch for Pitt's character has inspired the real deal: a special 1,000-piece edition of the Ingenieur Automatic 40 with a green dial.Directed by Joseph Kosinski, F1 is one of the most anticipated releases of 2025. Shot with actors driving real race cars in real Grand Prix races, Sonny Hayes (Brad Pitt), an F1 driver, has retired after an accident. Team owner Ruben (Javier Bardem) encourages Sonny to return to the track to mentor a rookie driver for the Apex Grand Prix Team. During the film, Sonny wears a 1976-inspired Ingenieur SL 1832 with a bespoke green dial. A collaboration between IWC, Pitt and Cloister Watch Company, the prop watch is now a reality.
