Introducing the AP Royal Oak Selfwinding Flying Tourbillon 26730
If you were to ask anyone to describe a typical Audemars Piguet Royal Oak, you would most likely hear elements like the octagonal case/bezel, integrated bracelet, and a blue Tapisserie dial. And they’d be right, of course, but the APRO can be much more than that. Signified as the granddaddy of the luxury sports watch, penned by industry legend Gerald Genta, the Royal Oak is one of the most popular watches ever made. Over time, many iterations have come and gone, but every now and then Audemars Piguet manages to change it up to such an extent it feels fresh and exciting all over again. Such is the case with two new and quietly launched versions of the Audemars Piguet Royal Oak Selfwinding Flying Tourbillon 26730, in white or rose gold with dimple dials. We’ve seen it numerous times over the past year; watch brands not communicating on new releases, silently updating the collection on the website, and calling it a day. It happened with the Omega CK 859 for instance, but also w

Patek Philippe Calatrava Pilot Travel Time 5524R (Specs & price)
Let’s be honest… The Patek Philippe?Calatrava Pilot Travel Time 5524G (the white gold version) was a hot topic of discussion when launched at Baselworld 2015. Whatever the intrinsic qualities of this watch, it has been misunderstood. Too early, too radical, too different maybe. 3 years have passed now and there’s a new version in the collection, now in rose gold with a warm brown dial, under the ref. 5524R. With this new combination of colours, we think it’s time for the reconciliation. Let’s have a closer look at the now very-Patekish Rose gold Calatrava Pilot. This new rose gold version of the 5524 is nothing more than a change of colours – for both the case and the dial – and the men’s version of a pair of watches introduced coincidentally at Baselworld 2018. Indeed, not only Patek has updated the men’s model but a ladies’ version has also been added to the collection, the?Calatrava Pilot Travel Time 7234R Lady and its 37.5m
TAG Heuer to reintroduce the Autavia in 2017... And you'll be able to vote to choose which model will be reissued, with the Autavia Cup - Monochrome Watches
A brand that is about to reissue one of its iconic models isn’t a novelty. Vintage is one of the main inspirations of watchmaking since a decade or so. What isn’t really surprising is that?TAG Heuer will reintroduce the Autavia in 2017. What is really new and unique is that you’ll be able to vote to know which Autavia TAG Heuer will make a comeback in 2017. This idea is called the?Autavia Cup and it simply rocks.“This is an original project, a community initiative, a spontaneous consultative approach with customers, collectors, enthusiasts, boutique clients, etc. A first among watchmaking brands in terms of preserving and showcasing their heritage” says TAG Heuer. And clearly, we can’t deny our enthusiasm here, as for the first time, a brand directly ask its fans and clients what should one of their coming watches looks like. As a reminder, the Autavia (a contraction of “automobile” and “aviation”) is one of the most famous wa
