Found - A Gold Patek Philippe Nautilus 3700-1J Gubelin-Signed
If you have the slightest interest in watches, you’re certainly aware of the collectibility and (insanely high) market value of the Patek Philippe Nautilus. Nothing new here. Produced from 1976 to 1990, the first generation Nautilus – the reference 3700 – is a relatively rare model, as even the steel versions were only made in about 5,000 pieces. A perfect condition steel 3700/1A is a collector’s must-have. However, there are even more collectible versions, and we just found one of these ultra-rare, ultra-expensive models, a yellow gold Patek Philippe Nautilus 3700/1J, as crisp as new, and with a Gubelin-signed dial. Now, that’s something you don’t see every day. And it also reflects the state of the current market, which might be getting out of hand…First of all, if you want to know everything about the first-generation Patek Philippe Nautilus, we encourage you to have a look at this in-depth article we published a few years ago. It is a good
In Conversation With Nick Harris, Founder of Orion and Watches By Nick - Monochrome Watches
A somewhat surprising, yet very encouraging trend seems to be emerging in our tiny watch ecosystem. Young people from around the world, millennials who aren't supposed to even care about traditional (outdated') technology, are discovering a passion for mechanical wristwatches. And what's more, they are finding interesting ways to explore and develop their own ideas, leveraging the boom in crowdfunding to help them create their own products and brands, many of which offer genuinely interesting additions to an already crowded market. This seems all the more remarkable when you consider that none of these young creators has ever even had the need to wear a wristwatch, thanks largely to the advent of things like smartphones. Still, they are making the active choice to be a part of this world and to try and make a living from mechanical wristwatches. Today, we're speaking to one such individual, a young man from the USA by the name of Nick Harris. The Seiko fans among you might recognise Nic
Hands-On Ulysse Nardin Diver Chronograph Great White Limited Edition
Shark week kicks off today, a week devoted to the mighty apex predator of the seas whose very existence is being threatened by overfishing. The often misunderstood and feared Great White, depicted as a ferocious man-eating creature in Steven Spielberg's film Jaws, is essential to the natural order of marine ecosystems. As a brand closely linked to the sea, Ulysse Nardin takes its support of safeguarding sharks to the next level and will donate 1% of all sales of its shark watches to support the non-profit organisation For the Planet. It is also partnering with Sharktrust, a leading European shark conservation charity and has invited a new ambassador who knows about sharks intimately. And, as you have probably already guessed, Ulysse Nardin is releasing a limited edition of its Diver Chronograph.Shark-themed modelsSharks and Ulysse Nardin are a natural fit, harking back to the brand's strong maritime ties in the shape of marine chronometers. Moving forward, the brand has now divided its
