Luxury Watches |
This one is a rather sporty watch. The P2B/02 from Sevenfriday's P-series has a square-shaped black dial that is surrounded by a fixed stainless steel bezel with a Sandblasted black PVD appearance. So, this area is pretty attractive to look upon. Also, the hands are luminescent so that you do not face any difficulties knowing the time at night. To further aid to that, the glass which covers the dial has anti-reflective properties. Thus, there will not be any unnecessary glares.

Yesterday, in our first selection of highlights of the upcoming 97th Dr Crott auction of this Saturday, 12 May?we focused on the hidden gems, and not so much on the usual suspects. Today we’ll focus on those! Here’s our selection of the highlights, stunning pieces that will certainly attract a lot of attention at the auction that will be held in?Frankfurt, Germany. Don’t forget that you can also bid online! The auction catalogue is packed with hidden gems like we showed you yesterday, and there are plenty more. For instance a lovely old Thomas Mercer table clock (lot?545), or a pre-Jaeger-LeCoultre Atmos clock (lot?602). But now let’s move on to the usual suspects, the watches that attract the most attention and that will probably fetch some spectacular prices.Heuer Autavia Ref. 2446C for Abercombie & Fitch from 1969Heuer’s Autavias of this reference are gaining in value, especially after TAG Heuer re-introduced the Autavia last year. Bvlgari Octo Finissimo Automatic Sandblasted Trilogy of Metals (Titanium, Steel and Pink Gold) Baselworld 2018 - Specs & Price
Exactly a year ago, Bvlgari stunned the watchmaking world by launching what was then the thinnest automatic watch on the market, the?Octo Finissimo Automatic. The best thing about this watch was that it had nothing to do with a shy, demure timepiece. Instead,?Bvlgari came out with what we think is a true example of a luxury sports watch (see it face to face with the mother of them all, the RO). For Baselworld 2018, what was a single watch becomes a trilogy and a fully-fledged collection, with the introduction of the?Bvlgari Octo Finissimo Automatic Sandblasted in steel and 18k rose gold.Impressive. This is the word that first came to mind when we discovered the?Octo Finissimo Automatic at Baselworld 2017. Not only in terms of mechanics. Not only in terms of styling. The mix of the two was an utterly impressive performance. Bvlgari already had the thinnest tourbillon and the thinnest minute repeater on the market. Then it launched the world’s thinnest automatic movement, placing i
The Collector's Series - Philipp Man, CEO of Chronext, and his icon, a Patek Philippe Nautilus 5711 - Monochrome Watches
There are two phrases that guarantee to send a shiver down the spine of any watch geek: Holy Trinity and Gerald Genta. This week – the Collector's Series covers both – in one watch. Hold onto your seat belts and tighten your NATO straps – this interview may leave you feeling jealous. Very jealous. Here is Philipp Man, CEO of Chronext, and his Patek Philippe Nautilus 5711.You will be familiar with the marketing message You never actually own a Patek Philippe. You merely look after it for the next generation. Well, if you did actually own one – would the Patek Philippe Nautilus 5711 be THE one to own? I'd be tempted to say so. They created a sports watch in stainless steel with a strong luxurious feel - and this Royal Oak was even more expensive than a classi
Longines Column-Wheel Single Push-Piece Chronograph 180th Anniversary REVIEWED - Monochrome Watches
Over the past years Longines has released quite a few historically inspired timepieces like the Lindbergh Hour Angle Watch and the Weems Second-Setting Watch, which both featured in our History of the Pilot’s Watch part IV. But Longines didn’t stop there. They do have a very rich and long history, meaning many important timepieces from the past that easily qualify for a re-issue. Today we’re gonna have a look at the Longines Column-Wheel Single Push-Piece Chronograph that was released in celebration of the 180th anniversary of the brand.Today Longines is not only known for their rich history, but also for the ‘affordable luxury’ they create. I cannot think of another brand that has so much, including in-house movements, and prices them in the range from roughly € 1.000 Euro to 6 or 7k Euro for a full gold timepiece with an in-house column wheel chronograph. If that isn’t impressive! For this review Longines lend us a very special piece that was intro
SIHH 2015 - Jaeger-LeCoultre Grande Reverso 1931 Seconde Centrale - hands-on with live photos & price - Monochrome-Watches
The Jaeger-LeCoultre Reverso is an icon, a pure piece of?horological history, first created in 1931. For more than 80 years, Jaeger-LeCoultre had worked hard to keep this little piece of rotating metal on stage. Over?the years, we’ve seen multiple complications, multiple sizes or multiple limited editions. In 2011, the manufacture chose to re-introduce a superb and faithful edition of the very first Reverso, the?Jaeger LeCoultre Grande Reverso Ultra Thin Tribute to 1931. Here is a new edition, paying tribute to another old model, discreetly unveiled during SIHH 2015, the?Jaeger-LeCoultre Grande Reverso 1931 Seconde Centrale. While the previous editions of the ‘vintage-inspired‘ Reverso were?mostly fitted?with a time-only (see here) or a small-second manual movement (see here and here), this new edition comes with an automatic movement with central second. You might think this is odd in the context of a Reverso, but in fact, this watch is extremely close to some 1930s /
