Review of the Fortis Cockpit One - Value Proposition
When you're on the hunt for your perfect watch, or even just a compulsory purchase, there is a lot out there to lust after. For example, when it comes to dive watches we've seen that there are a lot more than just Submariners, Seamasters or Panerais to choose from, which is great especially if you are shopping with somewhat of a limited budget. Case in point, this newly introduced Fortis Cockpit One, an automatic Swiss watch with some very nice features, in the 1000-1500 Euro/USD/CHF price bracket. Today we're taking a long, hard look at what you get for that money in one of our familiar extensive reviews!Fortis is a brand that probably isn't on everyone's radar but I don't know if that's necessarily fair. They definitely deserve some attention for some of their earlier collections as well as what's available in today's market. The most well-known pieces from the brand are perhaps the B42 or Cosmonaut's collections, which are mostly vintage inspired, automatic chronographs and space-bo
Patek Philippe Chronograph Annual Calendar Steel 5905/1A
The annual calendar chronograph is one of the most fascinating yet rarest combinations in the industry, as we’ve experienced in this in-depth article. And one brand in particular does it better than the rest of the bunch, and that is Patek Philippe. For a good reason, since the brand invented the annual calendar function back in 1996. Now, there’s a rather large collection of watches using this unusual combination, and specifically the 5905 is often regarded as the most attractive model. Today, Patek launches a new, surprisingly sporty version of this watch with a steel case, a steel bracelet and an olive green dial, with the new Chronograph Annual Calendar 5905/1A.While on paper we’re certainly talking about just a new version of a watch that has been in production for some years now, this new iteration of the large Chronograph Annual Calendar, the reference 5905/1A, comes with some rather interesting attributes. Yes… steel case and bracelet, not something that
Introducing: Indie Brand Breva Geneve is back, with the new Segreto di Lario
Swiss brand Breva Geneve was founded in 2010 by Vincent Dupontreue. At one point, the brand garnered quite a bit of attention on the independent watchmaking scene with a series of original but niche complications such as a barometer, an altimeter or even a retractable speedometer! For multiple reasons, the brand unfortunately disappeared for a few years. But in 2025, the independent watchmaking brand is now resurrected by Julien Haenny – Ex-HYT, The Fine Watch Club, Anonimo, Vulcain, Jaeger-Lecoultre and TechnoMarine. And here’s what to expect from the new version of Breva Geneve, an elegant watch with an original power reserve display named the Segreto di Lario.?The first collection for the brand's second chapter and the inaugural model of this resurrection is named “Segreto di Lario” – Secret of Lake Como in Italian. If this poetic name sounds a bit cryptic, it does make sense, knowing that the name Breva itself comes from the breeze that blows over Lake

Five Watches Presented in 2021 Making Full Use of Luminescence - Monochrome Watches
Some watches shine brighter than others; we all know that. And that doesn't necessarily have to be attributed to copious amounts of gems or a superbly polished case. It can also be the result of the amount and application of luminescent material. And this, quite literally, can make a watch shine brighter than any diamond, especially at night! Here's our list of five watches presented in 2021 that put Super-LumiNova to good use!Bovet 1822 Virtuoso VIII Chapter Two ReimaginedIt might be considered an unlikely candidate for a Buying Guide, but Bovet is not a brand that shies away from the unconventional.
