First Look: The Piaget Polo 79, Back to its Original Design and Opulent Gold Attire
When it was relaunched with a modernized and sleeker design in 2016, the Piaget Polo adopted the design cues of luxury sports watches, slightly changing the face of the collection to become a cushion-shaped watch. However, this isn't how the model started its life. This year, Piaget celebrates its 150th anniversary, and to whet our appetite, the brand brings back the unmistakable, opulent, equestrian chic of the original Piaget Polo. An integrated design with its trademark gadroons, it returns in late- 1970s full-gold attire. But if the inspiration is classic, this new Polo has been contemporarily reimagined, starting with its automatic ultra-thin movement. That's part of the evolution of our lives today. They want to be exquisi

Interview Jean-Christophe Babin on Geneva Watch Days and LVMH Watch Week
Last year, 2020, the planned dates for Baselworld and Watches & Wonders were pretty late in the year. Usually, the SIHH, predecessor of Watches & Wonders, took place in January and Baselworld was often around March. These proved to be good moments in the year for the watch business, as retailers purchased new watches, new inventory, shortly after the Christmas sales and that kept a healthy dynamic in the luxury ecosystem. However now the two major watch fairs were planned for April/May, that important sales moment in January was missing and Bvlgari Group CEO, Jean-Christophe Babin, wanted to do something about that. Within a short timespan, he created the LVMH Watch Week in Dubai, which took place early 2020, and filled the void of a missing watch fair early that year. And when the pandemic put a halt to last year’s Baselworld, it was again Mr. Babin who initiated a new fair, the Geneva Watch Days, which took place just after the summer. The reason for the LVMH Watch Week

The latter welcomes a new member, a watch exclusive to the brand’s boutique, with an unprecedented and surprising colour. Here’s the Chopard Alpine Eagle XL Chrono With Maritime Blue Dial.Chopard's take on the luxury sports watch occurred long before the appearance of the Alpine Eagle. Designed by Karl-Friedrich Scheufele in 1980, Chopard's first luxury sports watch was the St. Moritz.? Ulysse Nardin Marine Chronometer Manufacture - REVIEW (live photos & price) - Monochrome-Watches
Finding the right watch is a quest. When a watch fits one's lifestyle like a hand to a glove, and not by some artificial marketing association, but the fit of real-world application, then a symbiosis ensues. What is the right watch for the boat owner? Be he the captain of a flying tower fishing boat, or an open air bow rider filled with eager skiers, or a sport cruiser complete with galley and overnight accommodations, or a true yacht for luxurious entertaining, or even the rarified air of the seafaring mega-yacht bound for the Monaco harbor in time for the Formula Race, the right watch is essential. A dive watch will do, but if form follows function, what is the right watch, other than a diver, for the captain of the ship? As summer beckons captains to the rivers, lakes and sea, Ulysse Nardin, a name synonymous with the pilot house, offers a watch that can move effortlessly from the swim deck to the yacht club, combining the essential elements of sport and dress while simultaneously b
