Breaking: Audemars Piguet Appoints Ilaria Resta As CEO To Replace FH Bennahmias
It was known for some time already that Fran?ois-Henry Bennahmias, the current CEO of Audemars Piguet, was about to step down from his position. As explained in this article of June 2022, Audemars Piguet officially confirmed the departure of its boss at the end of 2023 (at the latest). What remained unknown, up until now, was the name of the substitute. We knew somehow, through rumours and indiscretions, that AP was interested in naming a woman, in order to bring a new vibe to the brand. And now, according to an editorial published a few minutes ago in Le Temps (here, in French), the name has been given. In the very near future, Audemars Piguet will be guided by Ilaria Resta, previously President Perfumery at Firmenich,?a Swiss company in the fragrance and flavour business.?Fran?ois-Henry?Bennahmias, current CEO of AP, who will leave his position at the end of the year.Fran?ois-Henry?Bennahmias joined Audemars Piguet some 30 years ago. Bvlgari Octo Finissimo Automatic Black Sandblast-Polished Ceramic // Review
If you're looking for the modern equivalent of the Royal Oak, your search should start and finish with the Bvlgari Octo Finissimo Automatic. There, I said it. That might be a bitter pill to swallow for some watch collectors. After all, Bvlgari is (sadly and unjustifiably) still seen as a “jewellery” brand by some – but recent developments should prove them wrong. Regardless, the Octo Finissimo has repeatedly proven itself to be one of the defining watches of its generation. When others were playing it safe, Bvlgari's design team - led by the inimitable Fabrizio Buonamassa - chose to go for the kill. To create something different, and exciting, and well, beautiful. And the latest Bvlgari Octo Finissimo Automatic Black Sandblast-Polished Ceramic is here to show it. From the way it looks to the way it feels to the way it sits on the wrist, the Octo Finissimo is a watch we'll still be talking about 20, 30, even 40 years from now. Just like the Royal
Baselworld 2019 - Patek Philippe World Time 5231J (Specs & Price)
World Time watches are among Patek Philippe's most popular complications, with a history spanning over 80 years resulting from the watches manufactured with Louis Cottier in the 1930s. In 1950 came the first World Time watch with two crowns, the reference 2523, which allowed the user to change the reference city when travelling. Fast forward, the year 2000 marked a revival for world time watches with reference 5110. The 5110 was replaced in 2006 with the 5130, itself replaced by the Patek Philippe 5230 in 2016.The Patek Philippe 5130 had its enamel dial version with reference 5131. At Baselworld 2019, Patek Philippe presents a worthy heir to this long legacy of world timers with the reference 5231J with a yellow gold case and a cloisonne enamel dial. Anonimo Epurato Bronze, Smaller and More Refined (Baselworld 2018) Specs & Price
For those who are familiar with Italian brand Anonimo, you will agree that if the design is easy to recognise, its watches are not what can be referred to as “subtle elegance”. Large, sporty or even military-inspired, Anonimo’s watches are on the tool-ish/instrument side. For Baselworld 2018, a hint of sporty-chic Italian lifestyle will appear in the collection, with the new?Anonimo Epurato. Smaller, more refined but still very Florentine, meet the brand’s chic new timepiece.Anonimo was created in Florence, back in 1997.?If the history, the design or the inspiration behind its watches feel familiar, it is simply because it was created on the ashes of another brand, Panerai. In 1997, Richemont bought Panerai and decided to relocate the production from Florence to Neuchatel. Yet, some of the ex-employees didn't move and they started the creation of a brand named Anonimo (anonymous in Italian). The production was focused on diving watches designed by the military e
