Truly a gentleman's watch, the TAG Heuer Aquaracer is the standard definition of classic watchmaking. Displaying the date at the 3-hour mark, the dial is timelessly elegant and ethereally beautiful, while the classic black color perfectly completes the dial, making the timepiece perfect for every occasion. Crafted into a brilliant combination of both form and function, the band is comfortable and robust, and is what really completes this flawless masterpiece, making the TAG Heuer truly timeless.

The New Ballon Bleu de Cartier 40mm with Interchangeable Bracelet System - Monochrome Watches
In a world dominated by round wristwatches, Cartier has historically been a bit of an outsider, gaining tremendous success with its resolutely non-round case designs that include the likes of the Tank, Crash, Tonneau, and Cloche. That changed in 2007 with the release of the Ballon Bleu de Cartier, a watch that was unmistakably Cartier despite its round shape. This year, just before the start of Watches & Wonders, Cartier has unveiled a 40mm version of the Ballon Bleu de Cartier with a bracelet and clasp upgrade. The 2021 Ballon Bleu de Cartier in 40mm retains the same case design as the rest of the Ballon Bleu collection. That means it is a round watch all in high polish with a domed bezel and rather short lugs, which makes it an easy wear even on smaller wrists. The bezel seamlessly blends into a crown guard that entirely encircles the crown (think Panerai, but more fluid), which is inset with a spinel cabochon and beaded on its circumference for easier manipulation. Montblanc 1858 Collection now with Bronze Cases (Review & Price)
The?Montblanc 1858 Collection certainly is one of our favorites here, at Monochrome. It indeed pays tribute to the military roots of the Villeret manufacture and the 1930s pilot watches produced at that time by Minerva (now part of Montblanc). Large diameters, highly contrasted dials, cathedral hands… all sounds perfectly vintage and faithful to the Minerva heritage. To even reinforce that vintage feel, the brand is about to introduce some new models in the collection, which for the first time will use bronze elements for the case, and this includes the stunning?Montblanc 1858 Chronograph Tachymeter, that we already showed you several times. The Montblanc 1858 Chronograph Tachymeter Limited Edition Bronze next to a vintage 1930s Minerva military chronograph (which was the inspiration for the 1858 collection) Ad - Scroll to continue with article The?Montblan
Pre-Jaeger-LeCoultre Reverso Tribute Calendar and Reverso Tribute Duo - the 85th anniversary editions - Monochrome Watches
When talking about iconic watches, the Jaeger-LeCoultre Reverso will always come into the conversation because frankly, this watch is a proper historical monument. This iconic watch?was created in 1931… Meaning that 2016 will be its 85th anniversary, a jubilee that Jaeger-LeCoultre will celebrate by introducing several new editions, including two “Tribute” ones. Here are the?Jaeger-LeCoultre Reverso Tribute Calendar and Reverso Tribute Duo (and the rest of the novelties to follow later this week). The first of the SIHH-2016 novelties is the Jaeger-LeCoultre?Reverso Tribute Duo. Behind the name “Tribute”, Jeager-Lecoultre intends to create watches faithful to the early editions manufactured?in?1931 and the following years. The best example of this sub-collection was the Reverso Ultra-Thin Tribute to 1931, an edition almost identical to the very first Reverso created and that even our own editor-in-chief owns for a few years now (just to say that, yes, itR
The Return of ochs und junior anno Annual Calendar
As any watchmaker or designer knows, simplicity is devilishly complex. And when it comes to simplifying a complication like an annual calendar, this exercise requires great ingenuity. If there is one figure on the current watchmaking scene capable of pulling off an annual calendar of such radical minimalism, inventiveness and intuitiveness, it is Dr Ludwig Oechslin. The annual calendar complication, known as the ochs line anno, is not a novelty, but it now moves from the limited, customisable department to a serial production piece, like the settimana raw and the mese. Translated, that means that there will be more anno-annual calendars on the market, and even better, the price drops from around CHF 8,000 to just above CHF 5,000 for a serially produced model. Available in two coloured options and an almost all-black model, the new ochs und junior anno comes in 42mm titanium cases.Elementary, my dear LudwigLudwig Oechslin (1952), former curator of the Musee international d'horlogerie (M
