The Tag Heuer WBD131B.BA0748 is an Aquaracer category design. It comes with a white mother of pearl dial that features diamonds as index hour markers and luminescence minute hands as well. There is an evenly placed date section as well. The case of this watch is constructed with fine-brushed and polished steel. The sapphire crystals come with anti-reflective treatment and protect the glass from unnecessary scratch build up. The bezel of this watch has a unidirectional turning movement and is constructed out of fine brushed and polished steel. The watch follows a quartz type caliber, and the reserve of this watch is promising.

In-Depth: The History of the Patek Philippe Perpetual Calendar Chronograph
Perpetual calendar chronograph watches are remarkable in their ability to measure the fleeting seconds of the present moment and given the right conditions, the passing of days, months, and years far into the future – perhaps even into eternity. Thus, a good title for this review could be From Here to Eternity, the same as James Jones’ 1951 novel, which was later adapted into a 1953 romantic war drama starring Burt Lancaster, Montgomery Clift, Frank Sinatra, Deborah Kerr, and Donna Reed. While the content-wise connection to our topic is nil, the events in the book and the iconic Hollywood film occur in 1941, the same year Patek Philippe introduced its first series-built Perpetual Calendar Chronograph wristwatch, the reference 1518.What made it possible? Why did Patek Philippe decide to create such an extravagant timepiece, not as a custom order but in series, during the height of World War II? Perhaps it was the very troubles of the era that made such bold moves both possib
Hands-on - The new EBEL 1911 Marine (Specs & Price)
Originally launched in 1986 to celebrate the 75th anniversary of the brand, the EBEL 1911 has long been a flagship model of the brand. After re-launching its Sports Classic collection in 2017 (with its signature wave-shaped bracelet), the brand now brings back the emblematic 1911, with several quartz-powered ladies' and gents' watches and an aquatic take on the model featuring a mechanical movement. Here’s our first experience with the new EBEL 1911 Marine.EBEL was founded in 1911 in La Chaux-de-Fonds - the company was named after the initials of the founder and his wife, Eugene Blum Et Alice Levy. The brand was remarkably successful in the 1970s and 1980s, in particular under the management of the charismatic Pierre Alain Blum. With its chic quartz watches, the company was thriving while the industry was hit by the quartz crisis. These could be spotted on the wrists of celebrities such as Boris Becker, Andre Agassi, Claudia Schiffer or Don Johnson in Miami Vice. EBEL was also ma

Tudor Black Bay Fifty-Eight 925 Silver 79010SG (Specs & Price)
The Black Bay Fifty-Eight is a smaller-sized vintage-inspired take on the popular Tudor dive watch. Several versions of the compact BB have been presented since it was launched in 2018. On the occasion of Watches & Wonders 2021, two new materials join the collection. One is yellow gold, which we just saw on the Tudor Black Bay Fifty-Eight, and the other is silver, a rather unusual metal to craft dive watches. Meet the Tudor Black Bay Fifty Eight 925 ref. 79010SG.As you would have understood by now, the 925 reference in the name of the watch refers to sterling silver (containing 92.5% by weight of silver and 7.5% of other metals). This is an unusual metal for a dive watch, and this is a first for a Tudor dive watch. However, the composition of the alloy used is kept secret by the brand. Its specificities aim at not affecting the appearance of the case. The brand also mentions that it stands out for its “unexpected incandescent brilliance“. Ad - Scroll to conti
Louis Erard Excellence email Grand Feu II 39mm (Price)
Given the amount of time and skill required to handcraft a Grand Feu enamel dial, it’s not surprising that they are usually reserved for high-end watches. Louis Erard, the watch brand based in Le Noirmont, is determined to democratise traditional metiers d’art and offer them to a wider public. Last year, the independent Swiss brand produced its first Grand Feu enamel dial for a watch with a price tag of under CHF 4,000. This year, the brand repeats the formula and entrusts its second Excellence model with a Grand Feu enamel dial to the reputed firm Donze Cadrans which specialises in enamel dials. The second Excellence model now comes in a more versatile 39mm case size with a lovely white enamel dial enlivened with touches of blue and red.Accessible luxuryFor the past couple of years, Louis Erard has devised a strategy to gain visibility by inviting watch designers like Alain Silberstein, Eric Giroud and even watchmaker Vianney Halter to reinterpret the versatile Regulateur
