Hands-On: The Parmigiani Fleurier Tonda PF Flying Tourbillon Platinum Milano Blue
In a very short period, the Tonda PF collection has stolen the limelight and positioned itself as the star product of Parmigiani Fleurier. Released with Guido Terreni at the helm in 2021, the Tonda PF reinterprets the luxury sports watch genre with refreshing minimalism and understated elegance that place it in a class all its own. During Watches & Wonders 2023, Parmigiani Fleurier introduced a second platinum version of its Flying Tourbillon, this time with a dapper Milano blue dial. In contrast to the sober monochromatic look of its predecessor, this platinum combo with a dark blue dial is a sharp dresser. When Terreni was appointed CEO in 2021, one of his opening moves was to get Parmigiani Fleurier a seat in the luxury sports watch arena with a collection based on the elegant Tonda family. Rooted in Michel Parmigiani's ultra-slim Tonda dress watch collection, the mandates for the Tonda PF collection were refinement without ostentation. According to Terreni, the sartorial style o
Introducing: The New Longines HydroConquest GMT Collection
Launched in 2007, the HydroConquest is Longines' answer to a contemporary dive watch with all the features of a resilient 300m water-resistant diving instrument at an accessible price. Apart from its practical features for divers, for many non-professional divers, the solidity of a dive watch makes it a perfect companion for outdoor adventures. The good news is that Longines is upping the functionality of the HydroConquest with the incorporation of a practical GMT complication. With its redesigned 41mm case and bracelet and new anti-magnetic in-house calibre, the HydroConquest GMT makes its debut with four attractive dial colours. As one of Switzerland's oldest (founded in 1832) and most respected brands, it might not come as a surprise that Longines had developed a wristwatch with multiple time zone functions as early as 1925. GMT watches allow you to consult the time simultaneously in two different time zones, usually local and home time. This very watch is the spiritual inspiration b
Omega Seamaster Aqua Terra 150m Ti Armand Duplantis
Omega, the official timekeeper of the Paris 2024 and 30 Olympic Games before that celebrated this year’s event with several Olympic-themed watches, like the Omega Speedmaster Chronoscope Paris 2024 and the Omega Paris 2024 Bronze Gold Edition. Among other new models that caught everyone’s – well, almost everyone’s attention – was the special edition of the stainless steel 41mm Seamaster Aqua Terra 150M, paying tribute to Armand “Mondo” Duplantis, a Swedish-American pole vaulter, perhaps one of the greatest of all time. During our brief visit to the Olympics last week, we got to spend some time with the timepiece worthy of a champion. Here are our impressions. The 24-year-old Mondo Duplantis won multiple World and European Championships titles; now he is a double Olympic champion (delayed Tokyo 2020, 6.02m and Paris 2024, 6.25m) and Omega Ambassador since 2020. His spectacular performance in Paris was marked by the clear win with a jump of 6.00m
Hands-On - Anonimo Nautilo Blue Summer Editions (Specs & Price)
It's been 12 years since the first Nautilo dive watch was developed by Dino Zei, naval engineer and former 25-year head of Panerai, and a couple of new editions have arrived for the summer. The theme this year is blue, which is fitting for a naval-inspired dive watch, and they follow the design refresh we saw last year in conjunction with Anonimo's 20th Anniversary. The Italian brand has been fairly consistent with its cushion case designs for the Nautilo line with crowns at 4 o'clock, but the dials have evolved over time. The summer editions bring colour changes to the dials with new ceramic bezels but maintain the no-nonsense diver's tool aesthetic from previous generations.Summer vibe for the new blue editions of the NautiloThe stainless steel cushion case is fairly large at 44.4mm, but not over-the-top for a diver and it wears well for a larger case. Looking at Panerai with many of its cases at 47mm and larger, the Nautilo seems almost reasonably sized. Anonimo has used bronze for
Introducing Moritz Grossmann Benu Emirates Watch Club (Specs & Price)
As already reported with the Qatar Watch Club in recent years, there are more and more groups of watchmaking enthusiasts flourishing around the world, specifically in countries where horological culture is slightly more recent than in our old continent. These local initiatives to encourage collecting are a great way to generate passion and increase horological knowledge among their members. To create a community feeling, these groups often create watches dedicated to their members. The latest in line is the Emirates Watch Club (here on Instagram), a group of collectors in the United Arab Emirates, which has just unveiled a watch with a stunning dial, the Moritz Grossmann Benu Emirates Watch Club.Moritz Grossmann is one of the top German watchmakers, a proper manufacture with traditional execution and watches with a historic feel, not only in the design but also in some of the technical solutions used for the movements – such as the impressive hammer-like self-winding mechanism of
