Hands-on - The new EBEL 1911 Marine (Specs & Price)
Originally launched in 1986 to celebrate the 75th anniversary of the brand, the EBEL 1911 has long been a flagship model of the brand. After re-launching its Sports Classic collection in 2017 (with its signature wave-shaped bracelet), the brand now brings back the emblematic 1911, with several quartz-powered ladies' and gents' watches and an aquatic take on the model featuring a mechanical movement. Here’s our first experience with the new EBEL 1911 Marine.EBEL was founded in 1911 in La Chaux-de-Fonds - the company was named after the initials of the founder and his wife, Eugene Blum Et Alice Levy. The brand was remarkably successful in the 1970s and 1980s, in particular under the management of the charismatic Pierre Alain Blum. Introducing the Montblanc Metamorphosis II - 2 Watches in 1 - Monochrome Watches
Four years ago Montblanc brought automaton-like functions to the wrist with the Metamorphosis, which was the world’s first wrist watch that comprised two different dials, and corresponding functions, in one wrist watch. To be clear, we’re talking mechanical watches here, no smart watches, no LCD screens. How brilliant is that!Originally launched in 2010 – as the first of the Timewriter program – the Metamorphosis was developed in the Montblanc manufacture in Villeret – the former Minerva manufacture. The Timewriter program gave young watchmakers the chance to develop their (spectacular) ideas with the help and full support of Demetrio Cabiddu (the master watchmaker) and his team. Now for the upcoming Watches & Wonders Montblanc launche

Baselworld 2019 - Zenith Defy Inventor (Live Pics, Video, Specs & Price)
More than three centuries after the invention of the sprung balance (by Hooke/Huygens), the oscillator is back in the limelight. Exploring new frontier and technological breakthroughs in mechanical watchmaking, the oscillator is considered the crowning glory for the most inventive and skillful watchmakers. Just a few days after the presentation of the Ulysse Nardin Freak NeXt (still a concept watch) and its innovative 3D suspended oscillator, Zenith returns with the commercial version of the revolutionary Defy Lab Meet the Zenith Defy Inventor. The way watches and clocks are regulated has not changed for centuries. The sprung balance has been the exclusive time basis for the mechanical watch. The sprung balance has been optimized to the greatest possible extent but its principle remained unchanged – until very recently. Ad - Sc
