First Look: The New Bulgari Octo Roma Striking 8 Days
Bulgari's personality is intrinsically shaped by Rome, incorporating elements of the city's magnificent imperial architecture into its fabulous jewellery and watches. The iconic Octo family, which includes the invincible legion of ultra-thin, record-breaking Octo Finissimo models, welcomes the new Octo Roma Striking 8 Days. If the watch looks familiar, it's because the movement powering this model was launched inside the Octo Finissimo Skeleton 8 Days in 2022. With its impressive, skeletonised movement and formidable 8-day power reserve, the combination of black DLC titanium, sapphire viewing panes and neon-green accents imbue the Octo Roma with a contemporary dash of Italian bravado. The architecture of the Octo Roma, with its octagonal base and round bezel, is inspired by the octagonal coffering of the Basilica Maxentius in the Roman Forum. Less edgy than the 110 razor-thin facets of the Octo Finisissmo, the Octo Roma is a mellower, more versatile option. With its more rounded geometr
Introducing the World's Thinnest Tourbillon: the Bulgari Octo Finissimo Tourbillon - Monochrome Watches
Bulgari sets a new record for the world’s thinnest tourbillon. Both for the thinnest tourbillon movement and for tourbillon watch. Bulgari not simply breaks the previous record by a few percent, no, the previous record is simply CRUSHED by what Bulgari accomplished with the new Octo Finissimo Tourbillon. The spectacular ultra-thin tourbillon movement, measures just 1.95 mm, while the entire watch is just 5.00 mm in height. Bulgari, much like Cartier, has always been a maker of high-end jewelry, also called Haute Joaillerie. Bulgari also made timepieces, nice timepieces, however nothing spectacular for the average watch enthusiast. When Bulgari re-labeled the sub-brands Daniel Roth and Gerald Genta (which they bought many years ago from the name-givers) and only put the Bulgari name on the dial, we knew they wanted to be recognized as one of the serious players in the field of Haute Horlogerie. They had the knowledge, skills, and expertise. And with the introduction of the world
Hands-on - Arnold and Son UTTE Skeleton, the thinnest skeleton tourbillon (live pics & price) - Monochrome Watches
Here, at Monochrome-Watches, we always loved the?Arnold and Son UTTE (see our hands-on here) – and for several reasons. First, it is an extremely elegant watch. Second, it is complicated (long power reserve – tourbillon). Third, it is super slim. Finally, it is a real in-house watch. So, when at Baselworld, we’ve been introduced to its latest iteration, the Arnold and Son UTTE Skeleton, now with an open-worked movement, we’ve been pleasantly surprised. And the best piece of news is that it also happens to be?the thinnest skeleton tourbillon on the market. Hands-on with a world record breaker – and a very nice watch. In terms of slim watches, there’s always been a strong competition, whether we’re talking about the slimmest watch – a tittle held by Piaget (of course) with the Altiplano 900P?with its 3.65mm thickness, till the recently introduced Jaeger-LeCoultre?Master Ultra-Thin Squelette measuring only 3.60mm (a watch that also happens to
Introducing Omega Seamaster Diver 300M Beijing 2022 Special Edition
Omega and the Olympic Games share a long-lasting love story. The Biel-based brand first provided its timing instruments to the games back in 1932, in Los Angeles. Since then, Omega has been the official timekeeper of both Summer and Winter Games, having participated in 29 editions. While the 2020 edition of the Olympic Summer Games has been postponed, this isn’t the case yet for the upcoming Olympic Winter Games, which will occur in Beijing in 2022. One year to go, and Omega presents its first watch dedicated to this edition, the new Seamaster Diver 300M “Beijing 2022” Special Edition. It's now just one year until the Olympic Winter Games Beijing 2022 begin in China. As once again the Official Timekeeper, Omega begins celebrating and this year introduces the first watch dedicated to the major sports event. As often, this new Olympics-themed model is based on a Seamaster, this time using the successful Diver 300M architecture. Ad - Scroll to continue with art
Industry SIHH And Baselworld To Coordinate Their Dates From 2020
The rumour had been around for some time now, many were hoping for this to happen, and now it’s official. Baselworld and SIHH will coordinate their dates as of 2020. The two major trade shows of the watch industry will synchronize their calendars. The SIHH will be held from 26 to 29 April in Geneva, followed immediately by Baselworld from 30 April to 5 May in Basel. Better yet, the calendars have been synchronized until 2024.This sound decision – in view of the challenges that these events are facing – is announced just a few days ahead of SIHH 2019 that will soon be throwing its doors open with some 35 brands gearing up to unveil their latest models. In some ways, this means going back to normal'. For years, the Geneva and Basel fairs had been held one after the other in March-April until SIHH announced it would be organized in January. The news means that the watch industry professionals will no longer need to travel twice to Switzerland in a short period of time.Fa
