The Fine Watch Club is an international multi-brand watch club aimed at anyone with an interest in luxury mechanical watches. Based in Geneva, it was created by our colleague Brice Lechevalier, an entrepreneur and watch enthusiast (co-founder of GMT magazine in 2000). Guided by his passion for watches and taking advantage of his excellent relationships in the industry, he envisaged a club that would become a bridge between luxury brands and watch enthusiasts. The Fine Watch Club gives its members access to a variety of activities including previews, manufacture visits, invitations to events, exclusive services, unique accessories and of course, watches, with limited series designed exclusively for the Fine Watch Club. Club members will also have access to the sale of heavily discounted watches. Ad - Scroll to continue with article After a series of events held si
Hands-on Frederique Constant Manufacture Classics Moonphase, a qualitative but affordable dress watch (live photos & price) - Monochrome Watches
A few months ago, we introduced to you the?Frederique Constant Manufacture Classics Moonphase. Usually, this brand isn’t matching with our “standards” (because, you know us, we love high-end watches). We’ve nothing against the brand but our editorial choice is to have a focus on more complex and lavishly finished timepieces. However, with this one, the offer was?a bit different: a dress watch, with a very nice design, a moon-phase and a date, powered by an in-house movement (and that changed it all…). Our first impressions were highly positive and thus, we wanted to feel the?Frederique Constant Manufacture Classics Moonphase in the flesh, just to be sure…What’s the deal with this?Frederique Constant Manufacture Classics Moonphase, on paper? A 40.5mm dress watch, with a refined dial, a moon-phase indication, a date, beautifully finished hands and dial, a case with officer caseback, which hides a movement produced in-house (which didn’t?loo
Weekly Watch Photo - Gronefeld One Hertz Techniek Nocturne - Monochrome Watches
After more then two years of Weekly Watch Photos, we’re now at the 118’s edition of Monochrome’s Weekly Watch Photo. And to celebrate the new design of Monochrome, we go entirely Dutch. Monochrome’s Dutch roots combined with the Dutch watch brand Gronefeld – you know we love the One Hertz – and a Dutch photographer who specialized in watch photos, Bert Buijsrogge. Sounds like a great mix, but I’ll let you be the judge of that.?Bert’s photos have been featured here before. Just think of the excellent photos he made of the Hautlence HL Ti-02 and the photos he used for his Watch Calendar, like these or these?or this one. Besides being a very skilled photographer, Bert also knows how to present watches. He always presents a watch in a certain atmosphere, that always perfectly matches that particular watch. Gronefeld’s latest creation, the One Hertz Techniek Nocturne, is photographed in dark Gotham City like spheres…. Ad
The intricate Gimbutis Avantgarde Pinecone Skeleton
Our environment can give birth to fascinating concepts, and designers have been inspired by nature for centuries. This is also the case for the Signature design of Gimbutis (a jewellery/watch brand founded by Romas Gimbutis). It is inspired by the pine cone that, like many plants, illustrates the Fibonacci sequence or golden ratio in its structure. Curvy lines and three-dimensional seed scale patterns combine to create a modern, non-conformist artistic expression. Building on the success of the brand’s pinecone jewellery, Gimbutis has now launched a selection of watches and today we are taking a look at the Avantgarde Pinecone Skeleton in white gold. The first thing to grab your attention with the Gimbutis Avantgarde is its extroverted, non-conformist design. Subconsciously symmetric and organic, its tonneau shape case stands out with soft curves, dramatic arcs, and, most importantly, a distinctive three-dimensional surface inspired by the pine cone seed scale. Measuring 42.65mm x
Louis Moinet Memoris Superlight (Live Pics & Price)
Louis Moinet holds a special place in the history of the chronograph with the 1816 Compteur de Tierce. Designed to time the passage of stars, this innovative timepiece could measure events to the 60th of a second with start, stop and reset functions. In 2016, to celebrate the 200th anniversary of this creation, Les Ateliers Louis Moinet presented the Memoris, an original monopusher chronograph with its mechanism fully exposed through its dial. The latest versions of the model are colourful limited editions in lightweight titanium. The Louis Moinet Memoris is an original take on the chronograph, displaying the chronograph mechanism on the dial side, in particular its driving command, with the column wheel at 12 o'clock and the horizontal clutch next to the counter at 9 o'clock. To offer an unimpeded view of this mechanism, the registers are fashioned out of transparent sapphire. The hour and minute indications are off-centred at 6 o'clock. The watch is now presented in three new colourfu
