Zenith Automatic Chronomaster El Primero Stainless Steel is simply a breath-taking view to look at. It carries a classic black stitched leather strap with a steel case of 42 mm in diameter. The most striking feature is its white dial. The pristine white is marked black with time markings and dials. Moreover, to enhance the overall look, a hint of blue in the hour hands ties everything together. If you prefer class, this is the watch to get.

A. Lange & Sohne Langematik Perpetual Honeygold - Monochrome Watches
A.Lange & Sohne's classic Langematik Perpetual comes of age and is regaled with a refined honey gold suit and some decorative touches on the dial. When it was introduced in 2001, the Langematik Perpetual was the first watch with a self-winding movement to combine a perpetual calendar with an outsize Lange date. Eighteen years down the line, the technical specs are identical to the original but the emperor has new clothes. Is it just a case of a new suit, or is this the final iteration of Lange’s beloved model?Revival of the fittestWith such an illustrious Saxon history stretching back to 1845, it is easy to forget that Lange's second golden age began in 1994 and that in a period of just 25 years, the brand has created a dynasty of spectacular watches and become the reference of German watchmaking. The Langematik Perpetual, launched just seven years after the brand’s resurrection, is considered one of the finest perpetual calendars on the scene today. Ad - Scr
The Collector's Series - Tom's Chopard Alpine Eagle XL Chrono
It is 2023, and we’re back with a new instalment of the Collector’s Series, a column where we let watch aficionados talk about their passion for a specific watch. Today we’re talking to Tom, also known as Wtt1975 on Instagram. He is a 47-year-old Dutch company owner with a wide range of interests, including a passion for beautiful watches, but not only. The remarkable story of his company might just require a separate interview – and we just might do that for some hot Petrolhead Corner stuff – however, today, we’ll talk watches. Wtt1975 got himself the Alpine Eagle Chrono XL with that gorgeous blue dial. And he’ll explain what’s so special about it.Chopard is a well-known brand; how did you get to know it?I knew Chopard as the primary sponsor of the classic car rally Mille Miglia and their special editions for that race. And, of course, I knew it as a jewellery house. Ad - Scroll to continue with article
Tissot Heritage Petite Seconde - Value Proposition Review (Specs & Price)
Vintage-inspired watches are all the rage these days with military and dive watches usually grabbing the spotlight. Tissot has been around since the early 1850s and knows a thing or two about vintage watches. The brand's Heritage collection is full of throwbacks, celebrating milestones in both engineering and design. For instance, the Visodate line looks back at the 1950s when the date complication was integrated with an automatic movement. The recent Heritage 1973 Chronograph Limited Edition celebrates the brand's long ties with racing. The Tissot Heritage Petite Seconde is inspired by a dress watch from 1943 that was marketed as an elegant piece for men in big cities. Anti-magnetism was an innovative feature at the time with ongoing developments, and this actually created a bit of controversy with this new watch (more on that below). The Heritage Petite Seconde might be aesthetically faithful to the original but its timeless design still works well today. Let's take a closer look.Bac
Patek Philippe 5178G Minute Repeater Cathedral Gongs - Review with Sound (Specs & Price)
Recently, Xavier and I had the pleasure to visit Patek Philippe’s manufacture, from the case and bracelet factory to the Haute Horlogerie ateliers. It’s only once you’ve been there that you can understand that something truly special is going on, especially at the HH workshop. Patek Philippe minute repeaters, which are manufactured there, have always been known to be best-in-class. And believe me, they are. To understand why we had the rare opportunity to go hands-on with the latest addition to the collection, the?Patek Philippe 5178G – which is also the occasion to explain the concept of?Cathedral Gongs and, of course, we have the sound too. The?Patek Philippe 5178G Minute RepeaterAt first sight, the?Patek Philippe 5178G is a rather simple watch. Relatively reasonable in terms of proportions, based on a simple time-only display, showing an elegant and highly traditional case… There’s nothing to lead you to imagine that something very complex ticks in
Hands-on - Getting to grips with the Delma Quattro Limited Edition
You would think that after decades of development and innovation, the dive watch would have reached a certain status that needs no more improvements. Sure, you can upgrade the depth rating or play around with the materials the design or colours, but that’s about it, right? The majority of dive watches end up looking more or less similar and follow the codes set by iconic divers like the Blancpain Fifty Fathoms and Submariner. But, as brands prove time and time again, there’s still room for growth and new technological solutions. Take for instance the Oris Aquis Depth Gauge, of which I happen to own the first-gen version. This uses a very simple and foolproof way to indicate the depth of your dive. Another fine example is the recently introduced Delma Quattro Limited Edition, which we will be taking a closer look at today. So without further ado, let’s dive straight into it!BackgroundEver since Delma’s foundation in 1924 it has operated independently and is sti
