Watches NEWS
Introducing: The New Generation of Sinn 903 St Navigation Chronograph
Founded in 1961 by former military pilot Helmut Sinn, German watchmaker Sinn has long specialised in crafting rugged sports, pilot and instrument watches with a slightly military approach. Emblematic models such as the U1 (and its smaller version, the U50), the Bundeswehr chronograph or the 103 St have forged the brand’s reputation. There’s another watch that is part of the classics, a navigation chronograph named the Sinn 903 St. This year, this watch with one of the most classic designs of the industry gets a technical update to make it even better. Here’s the new generation of 903 St.?Before you start commenting on the fact that this watch is a copy of the Breitling Navitimer, let me explain why you’d be right on one side, but also why Sinn has the legitimacy to do so. Some might not know the story behind the creation of the Sinn 903 and why it is so close to a Navitimer in both design and technical specs. The story is that, back in the late 1970s, Breilting
Hands-on with the Habring Jumping Second with Power Reserve - Monochrome Watches
Habring2 is the small independent watch brand of Austrian watchmaker Richard Habring and his wife Maria. Today we bring a hands-on experience with the Habring2 Jumping Second with Power Reserve.?Monochrome already brought you information about about the Habring2 Jumping Second back in 2009. Especially if you like to know more about?the jumping second mechanism Habring developed, after the n.o.s. Doxa calibers he used before ran out,?than it’s a recommended read. Another great watch made by Habring2 is the Foudrayante… this time no second hand that ticks like a quartz watch, but the second hand flies around the dial with an incredible speed. Today our contributor Y.Chan brings you a hands-on experience with the Habring2 Jumping Seconds with Power Reserve. Patek Philippe Annual Calendar Travel Time 5326G
In recent years, Patek Philippe has injected a certain vintage vibe into some of its creations, such as the attractive perpetual calendar 5320G (which has just been released in a new salmon version). Following this rather pleasing trend, the brand has presented a new watch at Watches and Wonders that combines an annual calendar and a traveller’s function with a warm vintage design. Meet the new highly practical Patek Philippe Annual Calendar Travel Time 5326G.?Apart from the obvious design language of this watch, the 5326G also marks the first time the Annual Calendar is mixed with the Travel Time display – the two being signature complications of the brand –? resulting in a practical everyday companion. Ad - Scroll to continue with article The design is perhaps the biggest deal here. It combines a certain degree of boldness with a vintage touc
Interview - Talking to Alessandro Ficarelli of Panerai
When I received the invitation to join Panerai for a rather special experience in the south of Italy a couple of months ago, I didn’t think much of it. I expected to have just another well-organised hands-on experience with a luxury watch company and enjoy my time on the Mediterranean coast. But once I received the program for the two days in and around Brindisi, followed by an 8-week training regime, I understood this was more than just some days of fun in the sun. This was, in fact, an all-in Forze Speciali Experience with the Brigata San Marco in Brindisi, Italy. During this event, we were engulfed in full-on tactical combat training by the legendary Marina Militare, the Italian Navy with strong historical ties to Panerai. A unique experience for sure, and one that followed be endured by up to 50 Panerai clients who bought the Panerai Submersible Forze Speciali Experience PAM01238. It also presented a perfect opportunity to sit down and chat with Allessandro Ficarelli, Chief M
First Look: The New 39mm PVD-Gold Edition of the Rado Captain Cook Over-Pole
The cool Rado Captain Cook Over-Pole is back! Dating back to models from the 1960s, this evocative name was used for several Rado models, in particular, travel watches with a world time bezel – while the Captain Cook name immediately refers to the brand’s vintage-inspired dive watches. The Over-Pole came back in 2022 as a steel limited edition and part of the Captain Cook collection. For 2025, we get a yellow gold PVD-coated version. Slightly larger but with the same classic adventure charm, it continues to evoke the romance of vintage travel.A relatively loyal reinterpretation of classic Over-Pole world timers, this new limited edition differs from the 2022 series by its yellow gold colour, which further imbues the design with a retro feel but with enlarged dimensions. Still, its polished gold PVD-coated stainless steel case remains relatively compact at 39mm in diameter (versus 37mm for the previous re-edition), with a reasonable thickness of 10.9mm. The domed sapphire cr
