Luxury Watches |
This watch is from the Chronomaster collection by Zenith. It comes in a stainless steel case of diameter 45mm. The full open skeleton dial with silver, grey & blue outer seconds indicator rim is very catchy and quite exquisite. Moreover, the faceted rhodium plated hands & applied indexes with luminous tips add to the elegance of the dial. The running seconds subdial is located at the 9 o'clock position while the large date display is at the 2 o'clock position.

REVIEW: Montblanc Heritage Spirit Orbis Terrarum Worldtimer - Monochrome Watches
The world of high-end watches has seen several new releases of worldtimers in the last years. Until a decade ago, the worldtimer wrist watch, originally developed by Louis Cottier, was a complication that was dominated by brands like Patek Philippe and Girard-Perregaux (with their WW.TC). In the past years a few more contenders entered the market of world timers, however with the launch of the Montblanc Heritage Spirit Orbis Terrarum, earlier this year, we have a new player in luxury entry level. It comes at a retail price of approx. € 5,500 Euro. The watches are now becoming available in stores and we thought it would be a good idea to review it. A worldtimer is after all one of the most convenient complications in this day and age, and with such a price, Montblanc makes this complication available for a larger audience. The Montblanc Heritage Spirit Orbis Terrarum comes in a 41mm case, in either stainless steel or 18k red gold. Besides the modest diameter, the case is only 11.99mm thi
Introducing The Turquoise Audemars Royal Oak 37mm 15550BA
Audemars Piguet was famous for its use of stones in the 1960s and the 1990s, with dials made from lapis lazuli, aventurine, garnet, mother-of-pearl, opal, ruby, amethyst and other stones. Turquoise is one of the oldest known stones, as Egyptian and Chinese civilizations used it over 3000 years ago. It here finds its place in the collection for its unique colour and spiritual qualities. The new Royal Oak Selfwinding 37mm 15550BA in 18k yellow gold with a dial cut from a turquoise stone is the first to offer this combination of materials and is another addition to the very few “no-tapisserie” Royal Oak watches. The versatile, mid-size 37mm versions of the Royal Oak collection were added to the series only in 2012 but were updated last year, in line with the design evolution of the brand from Le Brassus –?released to mark the 50th anniversary of its omni-important model, created by Gerald Genta in 1972. The new generation of 37mm Royal Oaks got a slimmer case, down from 9
Audemars Piguet Millenary Star Wheel reviewed - Monochrome Watches
Monochrome had the chance to wear a very rare Audemars Piguet for two weeks. We bring you a review of the Audemars Piguet Millenary Star Wheel!Recently a good friend said he was going to sell his Audemars Piguet Millenary Star Wheel. This is one of those watches we always enjoy seeing at collector's dinners and other watchgeek meetings. However this one is so rare that chances you come across one are very rare. So we had to jump to the occasion… Ad - Scroll to continue with article We would like to thank the owner for letting us wear, photograph and review this magnificent timepiece. We believe the Audemars Piguet Star Wheel models to be landmark pieces in watchmaking history and we always wondered how much inspiration Felix Baumgartner and Martin Frei, from URWERK, found in the Audemars Piguet??Star Wheel. This particular version was released by Audemars P
Jaeger-LeCoultre Polaris Date Blue Double Gradient / review, price
If you didn’t know yet (well, now you’ll know), I have a soft spot for vintage-looking dive watches… I know, I’m weak – and I never dive – but when they are done right, I can’t help myself. I already had a thing for the Polaris Date, when JLC presented it at the SIHH 2018. More recently, the Grande Maison launched a limited edition with a rather funky, 1970s-inspired blue dial (and guess what, I liked it). And as I’ve now had a chance to see it in the metal, let’s give this Jaeger-LeCoultre Polaris Date “Blue Double Gradient” a closer look.Polaris…If you’re into watches, the name Polaris should seem familiar. It is one of those names that vintage enthusiasts cherish. This watch wasn’t JLC’s first attempt of a dive watch; in 1959 the brand already had the Memovox Deep Sea, one of its most iconic instrument watches. The Memovox featured a combination of diving capacities and an alarm function –
Bespoke timepieces from Vacheron Constatin - Atelier Cabinotiers - Monochrome Watches
Vacheron Constantin's Atelier Cabinotiers is a special workshop dedicated to custom builing bespoke timepieces. Recently this Atelier delivered two of such unique and very complicated timepieces. In 2006 Vacheron Constantin started a special workshop, entirely dedicated to fine watchmaking and creating bespoke timepieces, Atelier Cabinotiers. Just recently they finished two bespoke timepieces and to say that the two new timepieces are impressive, is an understatement. Today Monochrome presents you the first… Philosophia. Ad - Scroll to continue with article This is a very complicated timepiece and was commissioned with a clear philosophy about the watch in mind. No wonder it's called Philosophia. This hand-made unique wristwatch is based on the Patrimony collection and features a 60-second tourbillion, a minute repeater, a moon phase display… and onl
