Pre-Baselworld 2017 – Anonimo goes back to its roots to better reinvent itself. To start the celebration of its 20th anniversary this year, the brand reissues the Vintage model of its Militare line: same features, same aesthetics enhanced with a hint of modernity and that unique Italian je-ne-sais-quoi…Anonimo was founded in 1997 in Florence after the Vendome Luxury Group, now Richemont, bought Panerai. As Panerai moved to Switzerland, some of its (ex)employees, among whom the military engineer Dino Zei, joined Anonimo to create a collection of sturdy watches, inspired by distinctive Italian design, with a focus on dive watches. The idea of Anonimo's founders, in particular Federico Massacesi, was that the product, with distinctive functional design, should always come before the brand itself. For this reason, the brand didn't appear on the dial for a long time. The choice of the name Anonimo, the Italian word for anonymous, was directly derived from this concept. The brand is now headquartered in Switzerland on the shore of the Geneva lake, combining Swiss precision with rugged Italian sport chic. Like the original Militare, it has its crown nested in between the lugs to prevent unexpected mishandling.
