Omega Seamaster Diver 300M "James Bond" Numbered Edition
About a year ago, Omega revealed its first watch dedicated to the upcoming James Bond 007 movie No Time to Die. This model, inspired by the secret agent but not worn in the movie, has been followed by the actual film watch, a titanium Seamaster Diver 300M that we reviewed here. And even though the movie has been delayed for obvious reasons, the Biel-based brand still plays on the 007 theme and today introduces a luxurious, numbered edition of the Omega Seamaster Diver 300M “James Bond”.Visually, this new edition does not apparently feature many differences. Same case shape, same spiral-inspired dial, same allusions to Bond… Yet, there is more than meets the eye and this new version is all about high-end materials. The case retains the classic Seamaster Diver 300M shape, with a 42mm diameter, its signature helium escape valve at 10 o’clock and the typically Omega twisted lugs. Yet, it is now made of platinum-gold, which is brushed and polished. It also features a platinum-gold plate on its side, engraved with each “Numbered Edition” number. This model is worn on an alligator leather strap with grey stitching and a platinum-gold folding clasp. A black rubber strap is also included in the presentation box. It gives this version a different personality, yet the design of the scale itself has been retained. Being a solid dive watch, after all, this new Seamaster Diver 300M “James Bond” retains its unidirectional bezel and screw-in crown for a 300-metre water-resistance.As for the dial, although we still have all the elements of the 007-inspired models – Bond family coat of arms at 12 o’clock, hidden number 50 within the Super-LumiNova of the 10 o'clock index and 007 logo at 7 o'clock – there are material updates. Usually made of engraved ceramic, the dial of this numbered edition is now made of black enamel and the Bond spiral is executed in 18k white gold. The minute track is also updated and is now made of white enamel. The back of the watch reveals the in-house and Master Chronometer automatic Calibre 8807, partially visible under a decorated sapphire crystal. The Bond family coat of arms has been laser-engraved and filled with platinum on the sapphire crystal caseback. Being a precious metal watch, the movement features a solid gold rotor and balance bridge.
